I wonder if we'll see Daye playing some of the 3 position next year?

Default Might not just be our tallest team.

Has anybody ever seen a taller NCAA team period?

Hey Bob, is it confirmed that Guy-Marc Michel is coming our way? If so, when?

Would that make our Frosh the "Rookie Wookie Zags?"

In 2010. Look for a scouting report soon. CDC, Hondo and others are headed up to NIC Friday the 30th to watch him play. NIC vs CSI.

Good one BZ! But we better be careful with this one now, or they'l all transfer over to SCC so they can become "Sascwatches". A team talked about for eternity in Northwest lore and legends! (...or, they could stay here and "win it all" in a couple years and accomplish the same thing!)

okay - i understand that in basketball, if player A is 6'10" and player B is 6'4" and they have the same skill sets, you take player A. but at some point can't a team be too big, and become not as well rounded as they could be? i'm sure that some of these 6'9"+ "guards" we're picking up will be great, but it will also have it's downfalls (not being able to stay with smaller quicker guards). i'm all for height - but i hope the squad stays well rounded with a good mix of height and quickness...

    Default Sure

I agree that it can present some problems, but I think that if you polled coaches they would rather deal with problems of being "too tall" -- than the opposite, too short.

It should also be noted that due to big wingspans and athleticism, guys like Arop, Kong and Harris play much bigger than their height.

In the coming years Gonzaga should strive to become the best rebounding team in the nation. They have all the physical tools that one needs.

Just my hunch but I think in 2010 and 2011 we'll be seeing combo guards coming in, ie, Jordin Mayes, Joe Harris, Brett Kingma, Nick Johnson, quicker kids like that.

    Default Recruit now...Guards!

Agreed, BZ. For Guy Marc-Michels' class (he'll be a JUCO junior transfer), I can't see how the coaches can recruit OTHER than guards. Preferrably a PG and a Combo, IMO.

In regard to SF Bol Kong, hasn't he been consistently labeled as 6'7"? And not 6'5"? (Good to see Arop's height bumped up to 6'6". Kiddwell thought he was 6'5".)

    Default Hey

    Now wait a minute:

    08'-09'

    Foster 89 7'5"
    Sacre 84 7'0"
    Daye 83 6'11"
    Poling 83 6'11"
    Heytvelt 83 6'11"
    Downs 80 6'8"
    Bouldin 77 6'5"

    Andrew Sorenson 6' 2"
Walks on are still part of the team.
