    Smile 24 degrees this afternoon, snowing hard...

    Snow overnight and all day...about 10" on the ground... forest fires, smoke and evacuations last month..... snow this month...life in the Cascades...

    Cold, windy, currently dry. . .Donner Pass has had chain requirements most of the day.

    Keeping my fingers crossed they get the Giants - Cardinals game played today.

    I hope that it doesn't snow yet.

    First snow, 32 degrees, and the turkeys are back in force--18 of them today.







    And wood stove weather. Note Queen Latifah in the copper boiler we use for kindling and cardboard for the stove. She's pushed the boxes out to make room.

    We had snow yesterday, too. The earliest I remember seeing snowflakes in the past is on Halloween. It just seems too soon.

    Stiff breeze and a little rain.

    And an AREAL FLOOD WARNING whatever that is. It doesn't sound good, though. Anything that has a Red exclamation point in front of it would seem to me to not be good.

    It is supposed to get down to 18 degrees Thursday night and there's a 30% chance of Snow Friday morning.
