The guy killed by the tree was just a little up the road from me, 1/4 mile away. Huge tree that went through multiple power lines. Drove by it this morning.

Got the generator fired up for the fridge and freezer. Gas stove fired right up and had breakfast. Helping clear tree limbs from neighbors yards.

This is the house across the street from where the lady was killed.

We are going for a record I don't want here. Today will be the 9th straight day with temperatures reaching over 95 degrees. It looks like we will make it to 11 days in a row before we get a little relief. Last night at 11 PM the heat index was still at 97 degrees. Saturday is supposed to be 105.

In Seattle we might have just set a record - 3 straight days of sun! Mid-50s to mid-70s...perfect.

Did you lose power a couple weekends ago? A friend in DC was without power for 3-4 days in extreme heat. Sounded rough.

Luckily, I only lost it for a few minutes, however, I was without cable and internet for a whole day. I have some friends at work that are still without power.
