Break-Up . Ugh. Mid-40's during day, low 30's at night.
So many brackets, so little time.
Might reach the high 50's today. Another series of storms coming over Donner beginning Tuesday
Woke up yesterday to the sight of snow on the daffodils.
Partly cloudy with a chance of Zagness.
It's a beautiful day in SW Washington... partly cloudy, no rain, and one nervous big dude sitting on the couch waiting for the game to start.
Looks like today and tomorrow will be the only nice days this week.
Rain is good though.

78 and rainy all day.
Last night drove 2.5 hours in a hard rain, only slightly less unnerving than a hard snow.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
Mark Twain.
April showers....high 60....low 45...perfect for hiking in the Basin....sun....shower....sun.....the good rain as Timothy Egan would say.... an now thunder and lightning.....wild flowers starting and the birds singing.....especially the meadow larks and the red winged blackbirds …… Basin full of new life …![]()
About 30...calm winds....snowing hard and sticking about a 1/2 " per hour.....need to get out and check for fresh tracks...…
Wenatchee has a wolf pack...a breeding pair between Blewett Pass and Mission Ridge ….caught on a wildlife camera.....
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
Mark Twain.
When you hear a wolf howl ...or a loon call...or a elk bugle...or a cougar scream.....or a bear growl... you are in a wild place and if that is not important to you...you are in the wrong place....and will be making a quick exit...
I suppose this year I will be gathering Wolf poop in addition to Pika poop....
Of those, I have only heard an Elk bugle. I would love to hear a howl, especially just after dark.
Once you hear a rattlesnake rattle you are making a slow exit, like someone just hit slow-rewind on the video breakdown of your day. Especially when you cannot see the snake, which 2 out of 5 times, I could not.
I now keep a shovel right beside the backdoor, and if I am going out in the evening, I don't go without it and a flashlight. And when my daughter and I go hiking around for berries, flowers, fishing, or gardening, we let the shovel do all the touching of things we can't see very well.
I keep the area mowed closer than a tee box. If a big eastern diamondback is coming our way, we'll see it from 50 yds off. I don't have a "rough" like in golf, only the "fairway" and "out of bounds." Fortunately, I have only seen ONE of that type (3x the size of timber rattlers) since we moved, and that guy was on the road, run over by someone else. So big I got out and looked at it. I prefer to never see one, ever.

It's raining hard. I'm getting tired of the rain, but I love the green that it brings. I will be heading to Central Washington this weekend for some dry, warm weather.

Cool morning, low 70's this afternoon. Sunny all day.
Sunny and warm all day. And a nice warm, not the "I was sweating through my shirt" warm that is coming soon enough.
It is about 38....the wind is blowing at 25mph with gusts to 35....it is snowing a bit.....and the Sun is shinning..... blustery Spring day in the high Cascades...
it is very nice in San Francisco.
sunny a bit windy up on top of my hill.
high 60s to low 70s
