Default How do I mini quote?

How do I take part of a thread and quote it to it's source without using the entire post?

I click the quote button (or the quick reply button & check "Quote message in reply?") and then type my reply.

I them delete the part of the person's post I don't want to quote.

(If I quick reply, I make my post and then edit it right away to remove the excess text in the quote)

So right now, the above quote is the full post. My next post will show the change.
