They’re all kind of disasters for an offense that passes. No thanks.
Would love to see an updated version. Thanks!
International was necessary. It is no longer. The guys we bring in now have less risk attached and contribute quicker.
In summary, Tommy was essential, but is arguably more dispensable today. I...
I think Ballo can make the same kind of jump Ayayi did over time. It won’t be next year, and it won’t be a quick transition.
Wish him the best.
Um, Caldwell was the first one who mentioned Tommy could be leaving, even before Miller was fired, even before a single mention of this was on either this or the AZ board.
But I’ll agree the fact...
Full-circle, huh. Never thought Tommy would turn it down unless the writing was on the wall.
Good for the administration at AZ. Thanks, Tommy, for the hard work, assuming it’s true.
GU will...
My guess is he saw the writing on the wall. GU also offered more $.
Arenas has never excelled in intellectual exercises.
Uninformed at best.
Perhaps. That usually happens when the individual knows they aren’t going to be selected. We aren’t there yet.
Very odd for an assistant with no hc experience to get the head job at a basketball powerhouse.
Roger that. Concur.
Felt the same way about Kessler.
See comment above. Deeper rotation creates a different class of disgruntled: the starters (e.g. Kentucky).
I remember several years back when Kentucky had so much talent they had two lineups which they platooned, in part to satisfy the five star recruits who might otherwise sit on pine.
It was a...
International recruiting was necessary over the previous two decades. I don’t think it is now.
Um, no. I’ve said this until I’m nearly blue in the face. That would be a huge violation of trust. It rarely happens. It’s an unwritten rule. No way - not a chance.
Alabama assistants and coordinators come and go. It’s a sign of success. The unwritten rule is you don’t poach from the mothership. It’s very well understood. The same should apply here.
2020-21, followed by 2016-17.
Any impact to immediate recruiting targets, Caldwell?
What odds would you put on Tommy leaving?
What impact will that have on the immediate set of recruiting targets?
Thanks, Caldwell!
His success was built on the Aussie pipeline. Not sure that translates well at AZ. You gotta be able to do more than that.
And the biggest thing, Gonzaga is a much better program than Arizona at present.
But it would be bad form for Lloyd to try to bring Chet to AZ, right Caldwell.
You have a better feel than me, but I don’t see him taking Chet.
Tommy would never do that to Few. So, that cannot be true.
Agreed on all accounts. I have no feel for Lloyd.
As for additions, still feeling good about Chet. Media says Kentucky is swinging hard for Kessler. Sounds like interest may be mutual.
They were on, we were not. This was the outcome.
It should not diminish the special season these kids created. Mad props to them all. Great season. Many thanks
