Sunshiny with the crisp bite of fall in the air (yeah, fall ... stoopid leaves ).
High got to 85. It was 55 at my 7:30 a.m. tee time.
That's awesome! I liked this comment on the video:
I had a friend working in Crystal City when his office was evacuated. He went outside and the water was too deep to get to his car. He had to sit on a wall while the water level rose. He said cars were floating by him.Quote:
If I'm not mistaken, there's a Hooters not too far from there, too. I guess we now know why he was so determined to get down that road/river.
Today it's hot as hell.
Mostly sunny, high 80's, slight chance of thunderstorms later this afternoon. . .it is supposed to be very nice tomorrow at 8:30 am, which happens to be my tee time. . .
Summer didn't come to the Puget Sound area until late August and September. But it looks like summer is now over........ :(
Thursday will be overcast, some fog, drizzle and light rain in isolated locations. The highs for the next 10 days will be in the mid to upper 60's with on-and-off rain showers.
PS
I was in Spokane last weekend for my 40th GU Graduation Reunion. The weather was in the mid 90's and perfect for the golf outings that were scheduled. A wonderful way to end the summer of 2011. :)
The highlight of the reunion for me:........ The Saturday evening Social and Dinner. Being seated at the same table with Bill Quigg and talking BBall.... both men's and women's....... both past and present.
.
Gorgeous day. . .sunny, high of 85, a few puffy clouds here & there. . .supposed to have more of the same tomorrow. I have an 8:21 tee time. . .YIPPEE !!
My Facebook has been blowing up with Western Washington people talking about all of the snow. I need someone from over the to level with me. How much snow did you actually get? It really doesn't look like much from the pictures being posted.
Sunny. 62 degrees.
Definitely some of that. Still, you wouldn't want to try coming down off of Queen Anne Hill in this stuff.
King 5 Cams
Took these yesterday--it's even more so today.

It has been snowing steadily since yesterday.

There are 20" of fresh snow on the eastern slopes of the Cascades... I was out playing in it this morning and actually triggered a small avalanche. It was no more than a 1' deep and 20' wide and 30' long and was no threat but I was amazed at the speed that it happens...instantaneous... it is 10 degrees and snowing and the snow is very dry and fluffy....beautiful, magical, winter day...
Windy, Overcast, Cool (40's ), with a strong likelihood of much need precipitation
Mild. 40 degrees with partially cloudy skies. Have yet to see any snow accumulation this winter.
Not to worry, with all the fresh powder snow, we were backcountry skiing out of a good sized SnoCat and there were a couple of retired Snow Rangers who were expert avalanche managers for the Forest Service. We knew the probability and size and power ....it was not big enough to move the Sno Cat... I don't think I would want to have been in it on snowshoes... I only mentioned it because it was the only one I have ever been in and I was shocked at how fast it was.. just sharing a experience... I am old and I want to get older....
15 degrees and a couple of fresh inches of snow on the ground. Beautiful blue skies and the sun is a shining, so it makes it feel like 16 degrees....

7:15 this morning, @ work
Finally warming up in Seattle...haven't been to work since noon on Tuesday. We have about 6-7" of snow in our yard.
It has been raining steadily since 9 last night. . .the foothills have snow for the first time in months and the Sierra is getting a much needed shot in the snowpack. . .
Avalanche control has been booming for days...snowed all night...clearing this morning, about 20 (warmer)....no real problems here, the untilies are all undergound and the homes are built to weather the storms... snow plows and snow blowers busy.... first real snow of the year...
Snowed last night and now there is a thick layer of ice on the roads. My wife had wanted to go to the malls. Too bad it's too dangerous to drive right now.
It's 30 degrees. It got down to -12 and -11 on Wed and Thursday morning.
It was 52 a week ago and I got in 18 holes. We got 12" of snow.
Misty rain. 60 degrees. Sun comes back tomorrow.
Is it time to load the wagons and go over the pass to the land of milk and honey before the snow is to deep ....or have we stayed to long in the meadows ? I hiked those trails while Full Throttle was working on my car...hey...I see BJ is selling the Bonnie and Clyde MOVIE car. I think the real one is a 34 Ford on Display at the Boundry Casino...
26 and snowy. Supposed to be 43 and sunny tomorrow-so alot of this stuff will be melting :)
What a very strange winter this is has been.
currently 14 ... below zero.
It shur is purdy though ...
Normal winter:
Cloudy in the morning...becoming partly sunny. Areas of dense fog in the morning. Patchy fog in the afternoon. Visibility one quarter mile or less at times in the morning. Highs in the lower to mid 30s. Light wind.
45 with thunderstorms.
