I'll tell you, it is scary.
It is especially scary at night. You can see the red/purple radar of the storms coming right over you on the TV and net. Then both TV and net go out (bc we're all satellite here), and you're truly left with nothing but radio on loud, hoping the next report isn't one just to the west of you.
In the daytime, we might be able to see one coming from a mile or so, and maybe it would give us time to get sheltered up (under a bed or something) but at night, the first bit of notice you're going to have is that in the midst of intense lightning and rain, you'll hear a shudder and feel the walls shaking. That's it, that's the warning at night, then maybe your roof blows off.
If you cannot tell, I am very afraid of tornados.
I do better anticipating hurricanes.
