Hot and sticky and kind of ickey
Sunny with a high of 70.
Mid 90's, Very Windy. High fire danger. Hoping we don't get any thunderstorms.
Hope you stay safe. My sister posted a picture of a hill on fire on her way back from yerington to Dayton where she lives on Friday. It looked pretty bad.
Hot
Rainy
It will be hot, windy, and dry.
03, there was a brush fire north of town yesterday that quickly spread & took out two homes. These weather conditions are a fire fighter's worst enemy. . .it wouldn't take much for portions of Southwest Reno, especially the Galena Forest Estates area, to resemble the conflagration in Northern Colorado.
That's awful. I can't imagine losing your home.
Here's the photo my sister took on her way home from Yerington on Friday. The location tag on the photo was Silver Springs, NV. She said it was on the hill above Wabuska.

I was just eating on the outdoor patio at Uncle Julio's and the wind started getting really bad. We quickly paid our bill and got out of there. We are in for some nasty weather.
A picture I took on the way to the car:

It's really hot.
Weird transitioning weather in Spokane. Hail storm this morning, now sunny, breezy and warm outside, close to 75 degrees.
Tomorrow, rain and high of 57 degrees. Warming up to the weekend in the high 70's, as it is Hoopfest weekend and it never rains on Hoopfest......
Black Flag conditions
I just walked back from the gym. The heat combined with me being hot and tired from the gym caused me to start thinking about curling up into a ball on the ground. It felt like a chore to move each leg. (I know I'm a little dramatic) I'm not looking forward to the walk to the subway after work.
I just looked it up and the heat index is 107.
73, sunny. Expected to hit 83.
One of our partner companies ( near Raleigh ) tells us it will be 104 in their neck of the woods. . .add in the usual high humidity of the SE and that spells misery. . .
According to the news, it was 112 heat index for my commute home which includes about a mile of walking.
I have never seen anything like the thunder storm we are having right now. There is literally no break between lightning.
One of my neighbors was just killed by a tree falling on her bedroom.
No power and temps are supposed to be triple digit tomorrow.
Jesus, kitz...what horrible news.
Hope you and your family can get your power restored quickly. If you can't, hope that you can find a cool place to go and stay.
I was talking to my sister in Stafford, VA earlier this evening when the storm came through and she and her family lost their power also. They were planning to leave in the morning for Ocean City but that will likely change now.
Condolences, Kitz. That's a tragedy.
