Lopez bullies way past Washington to end Stanford's slide in Seattle (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=280310264)

Brook Lopez can be a handful:

This week, Stanford coach Trent Johnson stated his workmanlike team lacked a look-at-me scorer who could put up 30 points per game.

Well, look at Brook Lopez.

The 7-footer scored a career-high 31 points and had 13 rebounds as the No. 14 Cardinal bullied Washington in a 65-51 victory, the Huskies' worst home loss in five years.

Sure, but was Trent happy with Brook for this stellar performance?

"There are so many part of his game where he needs to improve," the demanding Johnson said.

C'mon, coach. Aren't you happy with Brook's game?

"On one end of the floor, offensively, yes," Johnson said, staying in stoic character. "I'm never happy with anybody defensively."

I thank heaven above for our coaching staff.

Stanford's coach is a little pr###. He's not a gracious winner, he's not a gracious loser (as we found out after we beat them), and he'd rather the media think of him as a "perfectionist" than give due praise to one of his players. He's a perfect example of every negative stereotype ever attributed to Stanford, right down to the way he puts his nose up in the air and makes a sour face whenever he knows the camera is on him. You'd think he was in training to be an English noblewoman instead of a college basketball coach.
