These kids get sick now and then as was the case last night when Josh and Austin had the flu bug and yet they managed to play a few minutes. These kids aren't super heroes that are expected to play 100% at every game, they are human just like the rest of us. How many of you would have the ability to go suit up and play and try to help out the team when you are sick? Most likely you would be curled up in the fetal position moaning for someone to help you get some help and then sleep as long as possible. Try to show some sympathy before you jump all over the kids for not having a stellar game.

Just because one get's a flu shot doesn't mean you won't get the flu. Many of these players may have spent the holiday's with younger members of their families (cousins, nieces, nephews, 2nd cousins etc.) Kid's tend to carry viruses that affect adults differently than kids.

Why let illness get in the way of negativity. ;)

Dan Dickau and Matt Santangelo never got sick. As a matter of fact none of the great Zags of old would allow themselves to be sick. This was due to their overachieving immune systems, which allowed them to overcome colds, flu, etc... The players today have had their immune systems so over hyped by the polly's on this board it is ridiculous. They just look they are not interested at all in being healthy.

I'll take a stab at it: The team needs to get out of the weight room and on to the track. When players get bulked up, it stresses their immune systems and leaves them vulnerable to cold and flu bugs. ;)

I was thinking the exact same thing!!!

Further more, how dare these guys suffer any sort of injury what so ever???

What the heck do they think they are doing when they hurt backs or wrists or feet...

Further, gurl is right. Flu shots are given based on the particular strain that the prognosticators think will be most prevelant that season.

If you got a flu shot for every strain out there you wouldhave two sore arms and two sore butt cheeks for a while.

Instead of complaining about how kids get sick, maybe it would be really nice if we sent them get well wishes...

Oh that's right, that would be "too Flowery".

Get well soon Josh and Austin.

love,

It was the bench press bar, no... the squat bar, no...the dumbbells...should have been out training for Bloomsday.
