Lots of memories here.

This was the greatest game I've ever seen a college basketball team play, and the greatest exhibition of perimeter defense I've seen put on display.

Keep in mind that this Duke team had 3 lottery picks in the starting lineup, and a few other guys that ended up getting drafted. The highlights are a real reminder of how incredible UNLV legendary forward Larry Johnson was. He played as hard if not harder than Jon Brockman, but was way more athletic, way more skilled, and ran the floor as well as any big man of the last 25 years. He was such a force....the ultimate undersized 4 man.

I wish that they had all of the game parts on youtube.com, but I guess they were removed.

that era really pushed me into the "im a college basketball fan for life" stage. i was 11, and had enjoyed watching MJ, magic, and good old college hoops but that UNLV team was my favorite team to root for and watch at that age. still makes me smile at 28. :) those 2 teams were as amazing if not the most amazing 2 teams to play head to head in a title game.

Zagco saw that UNLV team play twice. He's never seen a more awesome college basketball team.

He remembers Houston's Phi Slamma Jamma, and they should have easily won the title, losing in the most stunning final ever to a NC State that arguably should not have even made the tournament. Think about having Akeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler in their college primes on the same team, and surround them with some other really good players. They were awesome to watch on television.
