View Full Version : If you could switch a player...

on this year's Zag team (who is on schollie) for another current NCAA player, who would each be and why?

My pick: I would switch Kuso for UCLA's Love.

My alternate pick: I would switch Kuso for (and this really pains me to say it) Brockman.

I think this year's team lacks nastiness. A big body who is not afraid to mix is up and can command the lane. While I like Kuso's energy he, in my opinion, does not fill this roll. In recent years we had a wide power forward who controlled the lane (J.P., Cory, etc.) This current team is lacking someone like J.P. or Cory.

Love is tough, a good finisher, and seems to be coachable.

Brockman would make a great Zag and is basically Big Red with more height and nastiness, but not the three point shot.

I'd switch Sorenson for Rose. :) (Sorry Andrew; loved that recent article about you though).

Drew Neitzl for Pargo. I just think his skill package fits our team better. Gutty, gutty player- one that can make an entry pass or stick it in your eye from 3.

Kevin Love for Kuso....that is, if Kevin's Dad stays in Oregon for the duration of the season.

Josh Heytvelt for Miami (OH)'s Alex Mooseman.

I'd rather have DJ Augustin over Neitzl but if I was going to switch someone I would want a skilled offensive big man to complement Josh. Give me Hibbert from Georgetown. Him and Josh down low would be fantastic. That way we wouldn't have to deal with our current low post ineptitude

Looks like a Zag? I'm not sure I understand what that means?
Does Pargo look like a Zag, too?

even though that was certainly vaguely racist, he clearly didn't intend it that way. Is it really necessary to set that trap?

Tajuan Porter from Oregon

Man are you serious I didn't mean that at all. Now looking back I can see how you would interpret it that way. But all I was saying is how he carrys himself and the confidence he plays with. He thinks the ball is going in everytime he shoots it and I love that.

Perhaps it was a veiled reference to the "hobbit hair" so frequently seen on our courts.:D

My bad. I may have been being a little too sensitive there. This board has been a weird place the last couple weeks, I've probably started seeing things that aren't there.

Maybe I should spend a little less time on my computer.

It's all good Vinny. I'm sorry I wasn't more specific in what I said. But I'm definately not racist. And by the way, I love Pargo, he's one of my favorite players on this team. I don't like all the Pargo bashing on this board. Sure he makes some mistakes, but who doesn't. Just think where we would be without him, he is the only one who showed up to play Oklahoma. And he almost carried us to victory.

But you have to admit, Graves would've been a great Zag. He's probably my favorite non-GU player this year. He reminds me more and more of Stepp everytime I watch Butler.

Yeah, I love Graves ... except for that time he carved GU up last year in the preseason NIT finals.

Haha yea I wasn't a big fan of him then either. However, that made me appeciate him more. And anyways, I was still on a high seeing how we beat UNC the day before (or 2 days, can't remember) and I live in the heart of ACC country and am the only Gonzaga fan I know. Although I've converted a few. Also, I can't stand UNC and I watched that game with my Dad and brother who are both UNC alums...needless to say,I loved every minute of it...especially Heytvelt dominating Hansbrough and Pargo holding his own against Ty Lawson.

I'd give up Foster for Jon Brockman. I don't think i've seen Jon mentioned. I despise the Huskies but always find myself enjoying Brockman's game. So hard-nosed and tough. We really could use a guy like that to complement Josh.
