I went to the Jesuit (Portland) vs. Hillsboro game on Tuesday, and was pretty impressed with Jesuit frosh Kyle Wiltjer. I imagine Gonzaga is familiar with him, but if they aren't I'd take a good look at him. He's about 6'6 or 6'7 but moves very well. He needs to add bulk, but that is true for most high school freshman. He scored 18 points, hit about four, threes, and had some nice footwork down low as well. His Dad is 7'0 and played for Oregon St. for a year before a 12-year career in Europe. I think he'll be a very good player by the time he's done with high school. I found the article below talking about a camp he went to over the summer.

Earlier this year, for West Linnís AAU team, Wiltjer poured in 40 points in a single half.

Wow.

Just an FYI
Kyle's dad Greg starred at North Idaho College for 2 years before moving on to Oregon State

Thanks for the info. I'd only copied some info on his Dad from an article I read. If Kyle keeps developing, maybe that familiarty with the region will be a positive.

The NIC campus is beautiful, right on the shore of where Lake Coeur d'Alene flows into the Spokane River. Very green, nice buildings. I go there 3-4 times a summer to watch the summer theater up there. It's only a 15 minute walk to City Park, CdA Resort Hotel and Sherman Avenue.

I hope Few & Staff is already on this Wiltjer kid. Get him up here for a game now.

As a Jesuit player you know he will be well coached, fundamentally sound, team oriented and know how to win. The coaching staff there is top notch. I always enjoyed watching Jesuit play... it's a clinic on how the game should be played.

Mast, Michaelson & (Santangelo?) all from Jesuit. That's a nice connection.

Santangelo played at Central Catholic with future NBAer Doleac.

Thanks for the correction 23. Didn't have the right info at work so was going by memory (hence the brackets with Matt). At my age, not a good thing to do.;)

While not a GU guy, Dunleavy played at Jesuit as well.

It is a bit hazy, but this might be of interest since his name was brought up again today.
