Hey everyone,

I'm looking for someone to interview regarding the fan support for the basketball team. Preferably someone who has been a long-time fan and was a follower of the team before the explosion onto the national scene. The article will appear in this Friday's edition of The Gonzaga Bulletin. I only have two or three questions for you to answer, but I would like to get the perspective of a long-time follower of GU. Shoot me a message or respond in this thread if you're interested.

What do you consider a long time fan?

Those were initially my first 2 choices, then I realized that Hondo would somehow steer the conversation to food, and Jhoops would veer over to the old days at St Als and their string of championships. I'm also not sure your expense account would be sufficient for those two in a one on one at J&D.s And just in case you were wondering, ElVoce would be out of the question for expense account reasons., just ask the New Yorkers.

There are islands in the Pacific Ocean younger than Bird Dog, Jay Hoop, ElVoce, Gamagin and Hondo. If you have bought top soil lately it was probably younger than us. Good grief we were born in the first half of the last century.

If you are looking for someone from the more recent past i.e. was a freshman in 98 when we made our first real NCAA tourney run, try "The Beast". He was even a English Major so he might be able to put to coherent sentences together unlike me and half the other people on here.

Springs Man. At prehistoric Joey's.

So I nominate Hondo.

After sitting on that much pine for that much time, he could really use one of those old man roid donuts. Just don't cover it with powdered sugar or he'd eat it.

and then there's Hondo. He's in a class all by himself. There is no question he can't answer. There was a period of about two or three decades when many of the players had dinner several times a year at Mr. and Mrs. Hondo's home. They still do when they're back in town. And besides that, Hondo still gets butterfiles before every home game, just like he did fifty years ago.

Hondo's your man.

However, Hondo still owes me an apple fritter, but I might let it slide now that he's done me a favor or two. ;)

I believe Hondo knew Fr. Cataldo.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out with this. Angelo's interview was the only one I had room for, but I appreciate all the help and support from everyone. :) The article will be in Friday's edition of The Bulletin.

I messaged Hondo, but he hasn't responded and the article is due tomorrow.

El Voce - I may be able to squeeze you in now since I got word back from the editor that the article needs to be longer than I thought. I'll keep you updated.

Back to work I go...
