The team shot 22 for 36 against Idaho. Plus some missed front end of one and ones.

That won't cut it against the big boys. Just because we looked fabulous compared to Idaho's 4 for 18 is nothing to cheer about.

When you're right you're right and you're right. :(

As Zag fans we have been really spoiled in the past 5 years or so with terrific FT shooters.

This season we will be more vulnerable at the line late in games.

On the other hand our defense looks more than enough to offset a few more missed FT's per game

Dude. I agree .... but .... Idaho went 4-18.

We could be doing worse.

Idaho and GU both missed the same amount of FTs....so what's the big whoop?

On the radio post-game show, Coach Lloyd (I think) was told that Idaho made only 4 of 18 free throws. His response

"I thought our free throw defense was excellent tonight!"

Pendo was 4-4.

Agreed with OP. We're going to need to shore that up when we play the big boys and especially in tournament settings. Many games are won and lost at the line. So far it looks like we'd be doing a lot of losing...

those 1/1s are crucial. Missing the front-end of those is no bueno.

One would think some of the guys would have learned something from being around him the last few years. The new guys just need to learn this fundamental aspect of basketball. They must not teach this in AAU or HS ball anymore. Even NBA guys are a joke on this point (but they are entertainers, not athletes. But lets not go there.)
