Baseball’s Fredrickson Earns Academic All-District Honors

Senior is hitting .305, and also has 3.85 GPA in Mechanical Engineering

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga outfielder Daniel Fredrickson was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, selected by CoSIDA, for his performance on the field and in the classroom.

Fredrickson, a native of Woodinville, Wash., has maintained a 3.85 grade-point average and graduated this past weekend with a degree in mechanical engineering. On the field, he's also had a fantastic season, hitting .305 in 39 games played with eight doubles, two triples and a walk-off home run on the year.

Fredrickson has 11 multi-hit games on the year and set a career-best with a seven-game hitting streak as part of a stretch of hits in 12 of 14 games. He has scored 21 times and knocked in 16 runs, including four multi-RBI games this season.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (when selected) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

GU travels to Oregon for its final non-conference game on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Eugene, Ore. Links to live coverage will be available at GoZags.com.
