For those of usan's that didn't get to actually watch the game, we'll just have to pick from the game recap's and highlights. My choice was pretty easy...

I gotta go with AUSTIN DAAAAAYYYEE! I think we'll be hearing that alot this year.

I gotta throw a little love in for Sacre though. Holy crap on that block...I bet they had to re-inflate the basketball after that one!

Pretty clear to me that our GUnit was Jeremy Pargo.

For this game, he was the ultimate Gonzaga point guard. Getting his teammates involved with 7 assists. Scoring. Defending (I believe he led the team in steals as well) and taking care of the ball (only 1 turnover?)

On top of that, he led the team in rebounding.

I'm usually not going to make a statement like this regarding the GUnit, but Pargo is it. It is not debatable.

Pargo. Best overall production. most rebounds, assists, second most points, etc.

Didn't get to see the game either though. :(

P A R G O. Period.

Honorable mention to Austin... who certainly has the potential for many GUnits over the season. He certainly looked good. But Jeremy had the complete game last night.

For the less fortunate that didn't get any coverage other than highlights....how did the Bunnies do?
Ciao

229Sinto tried to kidnap The Bunnies an hour before the game, but they escaped, showed up, and did their usual great job.

BTW - Pargo's assist to turnover ratio was 3.5 for the game. Is that good?:)

He had 5 steals!!

Hmm...ok, ok, I'm not changing my choice of Daye, but you have made me think twice just a little. Pargo did have a fantastic game! I was just so focused on Daye, and to be honest I am just ridiculously excited about him for this year (not that anyone else isn't, but...). Anyways, you know what I mean.

Pargo was the best player on the court last night and probably will be much of the year. His shot is looking so much better and people can't guard him down low. I'm expecting huge things from his this year.

If this ends up being the case this season, I think our season will be better for it. There is no one else I'd rather have leading the team than Pargo.

Daye
Pargo
Downs

Those three stood out to me, followed by--

Kuso
Pendo
Bouldin (will have MRI on ankle today)

It was a good team effort in 2nd half. Need 40 minutes of it.

I know the idea is to highlight a GU player, but I want to give props to Emporia State for a few reasons.

1) They are a good solid team and seem to be very classy as well. On a number of ocassions after a hard foul they would make sure our guy was OK and let them know they were sorry.

2) Reminded the Zag team that good 3-point shooting teams will be a struggle for them if they don't execute the D like they did in the second half.

3) Zags beat them and gave a nice boost to start the season on!

Pargo for sure. Didn't see it but listened to it. It just seemed like he was all over the place, and man...five steals!!!! That's special>.......HE CAME out after the half and sizzleld.
