Down 11 at the half... GW has led the entire game.

UKs freshmen look talented. Meeks has disappeared. The rest of the team look like they don't care. GWebb is going at them and UK can't stop them.

GW is a Div. 1 team, playing in the Atlantic Sun Conf.

Unless a miracle transpires, this game is about over.

In response to whether this is a real game... yep. This was the setup game for Coaches v Cancer in which it was supposed to "assure" Kentucky and Uconn were going to get to MSG. Only half that equation looks as though it is going to survive the night.

Hmmmm, I wonder if GW's mascot has anything to do with their success this evening? ;) :D

Wow, butt whoopin on your home court by 16 to Gardner Webb.

I never would have predicted that in a million years!

The folks in New York are crying over this. Kentucky would have filled MSG and brought plenty of fans with spending loot (http://kentucky.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=1383&tid=105090732&mid=105090732&sid=888&style=2).

They honeymoon's over for Gillespie, that's for sure. I wonder how long until FireBillyClyde.com hits the net... :p

I love the season starting earlier from a fan POV, but I wonder if it'll stick. I think a lot of these early-season upsets can be attributed to big-time programs, who are more apt loose players early (and who also have coaching changes/new systems like everyone else occasionally) not having enough practice time to get up to speed while smaller schools who might loose fewer players and sometimes have more coaching stability don't have to worry about that kind of thing as much. You have to believe something like that was partially at work tonight - G Webb only lost 1 starter from last season. UK had a lot more to adjust to.

Nah, I think it's like getting the first scratch on a new car. Well maybe it's a little more like your new car got "keyed". In any case, it'll be forgotten once they gel.

The blue blood fans are blameing Tubby so Billy Clyde will be safe this yr. The returning players aren`t happy with the rugged practices he runs and some, like Crawford, are not getting along well with the new coach. He also has a full practice on game days and says that will continue this yr which I think is stupid. Their legs will be gone by the end of Jan, aka Pitino teams...

and the fireBilly.com is up and running...they`er idiots in Lexington...

When I heard Gardner Webb mentioned this morning, I thought it (he) was a person. Anyway, UConn is also on their schedule Nov. 20, before our Zags play UConn on Dec 1 so we have a common opponent that we can measure them up by. If GW beats UConn and Clemson, they might get some more recognition, but will likely be tempered due to none of these teams being ranked (yet) this year.
