Number of games over 100 points - Guess

We already have 5 games over 100 points. The GU record is 6.

So my question is how many games over 100 do you think we will have before the end of the year?

    2 more games before league
    16 league games
    2 WCC tournament games (probably)
1 to 6 NCAA tournament games

21 - 27 games left for the year.

My guess 12 games over 100.

I figure 12/28 yields over 100 and same for 12/31.
So, that’d be 7. I’ll go for 7 more during league play.
    Total of 14 before WCC.
Zags should get 1 during WCC.
    Now 15 before the Dance.
During the Dance .... I’ll venture 2 more triple digit scores.
That makes 17 for the season.
Sounds like a lot of 100 point games but .... they’ve been reaching that without Killian. With both Killian and Crandall back .... I surely don’t think a total of 17 is a stretch and could be on the conservative side.

Speaking of High Scoring Teams: Look back at LMU 1989-90 Season

For some perspective (plus being a bit of a stat-freak), I looked back at the high-scoring Loyola Marymount Lions' season of 1989-90 (with a line-up featuring Bo Kimble, Hank Gathers, Jeff Fryer, Terrell Lowery) . Here's what I found:

                LMU 1989-90 Season including Post-season
Overall Record: 26-6 (Lost to UNLV 131-101 in Elite 8 game)
Avg points scored per game: 122.4
Number of Games over 100 pts: 28
Consecutive Games over 100 pts: 12 (Would have been 29 consecutive games over 100 except for 2 occasions where LMU was "limited" to 99 pts)
                Games over 140 pts: 6
Most points scored in a Loss: 141 (lost to LSU * 148-141 on 2/3/90)
Lowest points scored all season: 62 (a Sweet 16 game which LMU actually won 62-60 over Alabama)(this was the only game in which LMU scored under 90 pts in the entire season!)

                * LSU's lineup featured sophomore Mahmoud Abdul-Raul and freshman Shaquille O'Neal

Number of games that Tennessee has hit 100 points (at least as of a week or two ago) in the last 8 years? Twice, yup, just 2 times.

We have four or five, possibly six NBA players on our current roster. No other WCC team has more than one. The talent disparity between us and our conference mates is huge.

Wouldn't it be something to see that LMU team go up against this high scoring "Iffy" defense GU team?

It'd be close, I am sure.

All the malt in Milwaukee won’t produce 6 NBA players on the Zag roster.
