In case anyone is planning on staying at the Orleans as we do every year, the group code for rooms is WCCFN19 I had to email the WCC to get as GU hadn't received yet (I forwarded them the info) so am posting here to make your search easier. :) Go ZAGS!

My wife and I never stay at any of the casinos, getting to and from the Orleans Arena has been pretty easy. I do appreciate you raising the subject early. I am really curious about how the tournament will change this year. I attend all of the games, but may not do that this year, I expect that Gonzaga will not play until Monday so I am considering traveling on Sunday to save some money this year. Does anyone expect that Gonzaga will be playing earlier based on the changes they have made (realizing that depends on them finishing at the top of the conference)?

We booked hotel for 5 days because we can change that but booked one way air fare to and from LV (in case we have to change the "to" portion) on Sunday returning on Wednesday. I really can't imagine (if the projections are true) our playing before Monday. BTW airfare is already pretty high. We were only able to get a direct flight on one of the bookings.

Am curious, does the group code entitle one to some sort of discount? I already have my plane ticket booked via Alaskan Airllines.

The discount code is for a block of rooms at the Orleans but not for airfare. I wish ...:)

Thanks, that is what I was thinking too. I like watching the games but I also appreciate having the opportunity to hang on to some of my money. Last year the light finally came on for me about how Gonzaga fans get hosed at that tournament. As a lower donation Gonzaga booster we are continually offered crappy seats while someone supporting one of the perennial losers can be offered pretty good seats for a lower investment. Personally, I think seats in that arena need to be allocated differently, if your team is in the lower half of the conference standings you should only get seats in the worst sections of the arena. The end zone seating for loyal Gonzaga fans isn’t going to get my booster dollars anymore.

We’ve finally become seat hoppers and just go for whatever is open (unless they’re too neargroups of BYU fans) :). We even increased our donation for a few years but it didn’t make a difference as far as seating. I’m sure at many of those schools you don’t even need to be a booster to get premium seats. Oh well. WCC must be “equal” ya know...regardless of who is finanicing the league.

It isn’t good for Gonzaga. I really don’t mind being a booster, but I will never be wealthy enough to contribute at a level that will get me decent seats. I do the seat hopping thing too, but it irritates me that I have to. This year I am not making a booster donation and will just purchase tickets sold online. The tickets are always available and my guess is that the people selling them get them from the cellar dwelling schools just to resell them to Gonzaga fans at a profit. I am somewhat irritated that when the school negotiated this new deal with the WCC to stay in the conference they took care of themselves but didn’t improve the situation for the fans that turn a two bit casino into the Las Vegas Kennel every year. So, while Gonzaga got a better deal, they also lost a booster.

My husband wants to go down with no tickets and buy from the exiting teams but I don't know if my type A personality can handle that.

We bought good seats online for last years championship game the night before and downloaded them directly to my phone. I sold the crummy end zone tickets in the tunnel to help defray the cost. I had seats two rows up directly behind our team. It was the best. I figure by not writing that booster check and by not buying the crummy seats, I should end up being able to buy some pretty decent seats.

SO tempting. Especially since I really think we will only play Monday and Tuesday...
