Leaks were scarce last year, and virtually nonexistent for the summer scrimmages. I suspect we will get some information but it will probably come from Michigan St. sources.

Big difference between scrims and exhibitions. Former offers way more latitude for coaches to teach and tweak and stop play during the session, which is often three halves or more.

Agreed on both fronts. I wish we still heard juicy leaks like back in the day.

Example: Sacre and Harris one year destroyed the competition and I was so excited about our frontcourt...

Here's a thought. Distance from E Lansing to Denver, CO ..... 1,200 miles

Distance from Spokane to Denver, CO ... 1,100 miles

Seems to me there's a better than even chance the Zags will have their preseason "secret" scrimmage where they always have it. Denver.

And speaking of Denver ... the hue and cry of 6 seed Seton Hall about Gonzaga's "home" game as an 11 seed in '16 was pretty telling. 1,100 miles to travel to the "home" gym in Denver. Right.

As for the "leaks" ... a former player's dad was always part of the secret scrimmage crew ... i.e. timekeeper I think ... and he'd "spill" a bit of info to eager ears (in fact I think he kept score as well). He isn't involved any more. And a former coach's brother also used to "chat" a bit off the record. That inside source dried up as well. Although they aren't as frequent as they once were ... there are still some tidbits that float to the service from time to time. (i.e. at some point relatively soon I'm hopeful of (and in fact "expecting") a brand new "Welcome Geno" thread). Of course, nothing's in the bag until it's in the bag ....

But it's nice the Zags are scrimmaging Michigan State.
