We'll be top 5 offense. Noticing there's no mention of Geno ( who knows???) but we sill are top 5. Key to our offense is likely Tillie, Rui and Clarke. Clarke is also key and he's been with us for a full year..as has everyone else in the top 7 kids who play. It's encouraging. NOW come the discussion of defense....which wins most games. It'll be an exciting year.
Tip off in 2 months.. 5 months down and 2 to go.

That is so cool. Thanks for sharing!

I wonder what the economics of the basketball team is for Gonzaga. Has to be a huge benefit to the school in terms of increased enrollment resulting from publicity like this. And yet ... there has to be a significant cost to the school in having a high-profile sports team to maintain - coaches' salaries, charter airplane, pay-to-play games.... What else?

A couple of questions...

What was the schools enrollment back in 1999?

How big should GU become...10k, 15K, 20K+?

When I was in Spokane last summer, it sure didn't seem like there was a lot of room available to expand unless they went "up!"

IIRC, 20 years or so ago, GU did some research and concluded a student body of around 7,500 was just about right. Many factors were included in the study including campus size and cost per student. 7,500 was the number deemed most efficient. I believe I read that in the "Gonzaga" magazine that alums receive. Not sure if that number was undergrad or total.

I am not sure if this was posted or not, but another site has us highly touted.

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

On a warm February afternoon in 1983, I was sitting in the little outdoor cafe im the Maya Bell Campground near the Palenque ruins in Chiapas, Mexico. I noticed a huge jungle spider painstakingly, thread by thread, weaving a massive web that wound up about 3' in diameter. Then it sat motionless in the center, waiting for an unsuspecting victim. After about 10 minutes of it not moving a muscle, I asked how it could maintain such patience.

Its reply: "Time's fun when you're having flies."

Hey it's the off season.

I love that these three are getting great press but I'm personally convinced Perkins & Clarke are actually going to be our most important players. But it's nice to have an abundance of riches. ;)

On ESPN's latest mock draft, they had Rui going 14th overall and Tillie 51st.
