Absolutely no problem unless you don't get the games. Is that what he said? Sounds like it. How could Zags games be blacked out there? If they are playing AZ, it might not be on Root, so might be PAC station. Does Dish have that? I think they do. Direct does not.

The WCC doesn't have blackout rules. If you have DirectTV and get the college sports pack (I think $13.99 per month), none of the games are blacked out, and often if a game is not televised by Root Sports NW it will be shown on RSNW-2 or another channel like NBC Sports Bay Area.

I cannot speak for the Dish Network.

I would imagine DirectTV people will be able to see every game this season. Unlike last year when the GU/UW blow out was shown only on the Pac 12 Network. And by the way, according to the commish, the Pac-12 still has made ZERO progress in their negotiations with DirectTV. There are also rumors that AT&T U-Verse is going to drop the Pac-12 Network.

You might have to get the Multi-sport package so you can get Root Sports NW. It costs $13 a month. That will ensure you get all the WCC and home games that Root Sports carries.

I have had a good experience with DirecTV for several years, and agree with the above. It saves the money of going to a sports bar every time, or the choppy digitized steams you sometimes get online. And I obsessively rewind calls and highlight plays, so there’s that, as well...

We winter in Goodyear, AZ. I learned that it is possible to special order Root Sports NW specifically for Gonzaga games from Direct TV for $10 a month. It was flawless. Between ESPN, Root and a couple of games I had to stream I was able to not miss a game all season last year there. The only games I had to stream were not particularly tough games anyway, but I did get them. Kraziness in the Kennel is out.

To be honest, when a WCC bottom feeder comes to town and you know what the game result is going to be, it's sometimes nice to record the game and go out and have a nice dinner and watch a replay of the game afterwards. I even use the clicker to skip past the opponent's free throw shooting, official replays and all the other crap that slows games down. TV ads are a given. I know that if I go to the Northern Quest casino I will lose more money that otherwise, so there is no need for me to watch their ads.

Ditto with Dish. I have had no problems (except for the occasional heavy snowstorm that covered the dish). And you can always cancel the sports package during the off-season and renew the next fall.

I've had Dish for 11 years, just pay for the sports package and you get all Zags games. Channel 426, RootSports NW.

Sounds like you're set!

Now enjoy that Arizona winter, the one that begins when summer ends, on Nov. 30th. :)

Frankly, I had more issues with weather interrupting games on ESPN than I did in finding the games on Direct - we get good sized T-storms and that plays havoc with signal.

Oh, and from Jan-March, for my dollar, there's not a more beautiful state in the west than AZ. Nice!

Looks like Tucson is out of luck. Hopefully ESPN will carry some games.
