12. Rui Hachimura | Gonzaga | So | F
Hachimura is a 6-8 combo forward who averaged 11.6 points and 4.7 rebounds in 20.7 minutes per game last season. If he adds a jumper, going in the top-half of the lottery is a possibility.

A huge forward at 6’8 and 225 pounds with a 7’ wingspan, Hachimura improved immensely throughout his redshirt freshman season at Gonzaga last year. He’s ideally a versatile modern front court player who can rebound and finish in the paint while he continues to fine-tune his shooting stroke. He couldn’t hit threes last season, but he did make almost 80 percent of his free throws, hinting at his potential as a shooter.

They got his year wrong though, last season he was a sophomore, not a redshirt freshman.

For my birthday I would like a monster dunk from Rui over Zion in Maui. In hi def if possible so it could be my background and screen saver. And make it for the win in overtime.

Fun Summer stuff! I am so hyped for this upcoming season. How is Josh going to be? Tillie? et al. I am excited.

I still think Tillie could work his way into being a first rounder if he has a big year. GU could potentially have 3 first round picks playing this year. That is awesome.

Doesn't Rui already have a really nice mid-range jumper? I seem to remember him making a lot of really nice jump shots during games. Maybe he means a 3 pt shot, which Rui definitely needs?

that's what we've seen with the mid ranger.
Rui has shown a sweet face up game, including that mid ranger and also can go off the bounce and facilitate and/or finish

I hope he does work his way into the top half of the lottery - both for what it would mean to him and what it would mean for the success of this program and the team this year. There was a time, not too long ago, that a lot of our fanbase (OK - maybe just me) hoped that certain players would have great seasons, just not too great out of fear of them leaving early. Now, it's almost becoming a given that we'll only see some players here for 2-3 years, but it's OK because we've become one of those teams that can lose top talent and still compete at the national level the following year. We've never really had a "down" year at the WCC-level, now it feels like we've become a re-load, not re-build program at the national level.

It would be so huge for the Japanese basketball if Rui became a top10 pick. I think he can do it.

As naturally gifted Rui is, I don't always see the drive in him. This year could be the year he dominates! Rui is one of my favorite players and I hope he is top 10.
