NBC Sports--- a bit early-- but coming in at #2 --not bad.

2. GONZAGA BULLDOGS
Who’s gone: Silas Melson, Johnathan Williams III
Who do they add: Brandon Clarke, Joel Ayayi, Filip Petrušev, Greg Foster Jr.
Projected starting lineup: Josh Perkins, Zach Norvell Jr., Corey Kispert, Rui Hachimura, Killian Tillie
I’m not fully convinced that I love Perkins as a point guard, but with Norvell and Kispert a year older and Hachimura and Tillie on the front line, the Zags have a chance to be really, really good once again. Throw in the transfer addition of Clarke and a couple more talented foreigners — Ayayi and Petrušev — and this is just about what you would expect for Gonzaga.

Gary Parrish has updated the @CBSSports Top 25 (and one) college basketball rankings to reflect recent developments.

1. Kansas
2. Duke
3. Tennessee
4. Kentucky
5. Gonzaga
6. Virginia
7. Villanova
8. Nevada
9. North Carolina
10. Auburn

5. Gonzaga

Coach: Mark Few

2017-18 record: 32-5

Notable players definitely gone: Johnathan Williams III, Silas Melson

Others expected to leave: None

Notable players expected to return: Killian Tillie, Zach Norvell, Josh Perkins, Rui Hachimura, Corey Kispert, Jacob Larsen, Jeremy Jones, Jesse Wade

Expected additions: Joel Ayayi, Brandon Clark, Filip Petrusev, Greg Foster

Why the Bulldogs are ranked here: Gonzaga has finished in the top 25 at KenPom each of the past seven years and in the top 10 in three of the past four. So the Zags are an undeniable benefit-of-the-doubt team. Sure, they lost their leading scorer in Johnathan Williams III. But they'll still be a top-10 outfit and WCC power thanks to the fact that Killian Tillie and Rui Hachimura decided to pass on the NBA Draft.

What are the chances we see qty 4 top 10 teams next year? Auburn/Duke in Maui, Tennessee and North Carolina-- would love to add Nevada as our #5 top 10 opponent.

Nice praise, BUT . . . Zags have a history of doing best as overlooked, underrated, chip-on-the-shoulder guys who must win key game after key game. Hate to say it, but an early loss to a respectable opponent or a home loss against a league opponent they were favored to defeat by 20+ might be a great motivator.

Go Zags! Perfect isn’t necessary. Just win down the stretch when it counts and you could go ALL THE WAY!
