Ouch... and right on. I stopped ever caring about that program when they let guys play who were arrested the week, or was it the day, before. Two of them. Drug charges if I’m not mistaken. Just can’t respect a program that says, “well if they don’t play we won’t win” after a real issue of breaking the law and violating team rules.

I'd fire Kent yesterday. Brought in only because he was a buddy of Moos who is now long gone leaving a huge mess (millions in debt is the Athletic dept!). They simply cannot field a very good basketball team with Kent at the helm. Never have fielded a competitive team since Bennett and they won't with Kent.

"By their fruits you will know them"...........

As was mentioned in the article, three 60 year olds not named Wooden, trying to convince an 18 year old and his mid to late 30's parents...they can't relate so MDA you are absolutely right, with Kent at the helm WSU will never field a competitive men's basketball team...

There is zero excuse for any Pac 12 team to not have a basketball practice facility, and as Bud hints at, Beasley either needs to be torn down or rebuilt into a 8,500 seat arena that is more intimidating to opponents.

Such amenities are important to hiring a new, respectable head coach, but WSU doesn't have them.

Whenever Kent is let loose, they have to get an X's and O's guy in there. Like a Tony Bennett, but younger.

Another ouch! I’m one of those in state rivalry fans that would like to see the Zags play against more than just UW. If this is a fair assessment of Waxzu basketball then .... how, EWU doing, Whitworth? Maybe a Montana or Oregon non-WCC school?

It's harder to recruit there than Gonzaga...they need to find a "young coach" in their 30's and leave him be for five years...give him a budget, upgrade facilities and make it a home type atmosphere...after awhile it will catch on just as it did with GU...their advantage is having a somewhat successful football program...and being in the P12 will guarantee a steady flow of funds...

BUT if WSU can't begin to improve in the next two-three years, then we don't play them until they get up to par...imo

The athletic department is 67 million in debt so Beasley isn't gonna get torn down or rebuilt. And they need the big arena for graduation.

I am sure that they could curtain off large portions, making it a much cosier place at a very small (relatively) cost.

The last year or two they had everyone sit in the lower bowl.

Yep, and curtain off the visual of empty seats.

Beasley was plenty intimidating during the George Raveling years.
