It has to be Norvell. Rui hitting that 3 would have sealed it if he didn't miss a million @$%#@$% free throws when it mattered.

Snacks are on me.

But, we don't win that game without the poise of Josh Perkins. I truly believe that is Josh Perkins' finest hour.

I have NEVER been prouder of a victory.

They overcame refs that wanted to decide the game themselves, overcame LOSING a 15 pt lead by 5 points!! Overcame a team that wanted to play thugball AND get rewarded for it ....They overcame shooting FTs worse than halfcourt shots

They overcame it because they are just tougher than your average Zag team.

So Proud to be a Zag

Of course it is Norvell, but major major MAJOR props to Josh Perkins for his performance so far this tournament. 100% in control. Not forcing anything. Leading this team with his poise and demeanor. I've been critical of him int he past and admit that I was almost expecting the moment to be too big for him and he's done just the opposite. With him playing like this we can win several more games.

Well said Dixie. 100% agree.
Rui w big confidence making clutch free throws down the stretch.
Perkins is one mentally and physically tough team leader.
Wow, Iím so impressed by this team.
Ruiís 3 then monster block was friggin outstanding. Actually glad he threw down that late, unnecessary dunk; OSU thugs deserved it. When they go low, Zags dunk on Ďem!

Norvell is a star!

I said after a month or so into the season, he will be our first breakout NBA guard. Sure Richie had a game where he scored 30+ for the Clippers, and Dan played a bit in the NBA and Jeremy had some good games for the Grizz, but ZN will be an NBA star, our first guard NBA star. * Not counting Stockton, obviously; specifically talking about the Monson/Few era.

That was a great move by Few, putting in Rui for J3 after just a couple of minutes. It was easy to see that Johnathan was simply too amped up to be effective.

We got some productive minutes from Corey, Jeremy, and Jacob. We had some serious foul trouble tonight.

No doubt.

An amazing game. not just his 28 pts, but 12 rebs, 4 asts, 2 stls. WOW.

My only hope is he doesn't feel like he needs to score 28 every game, as sometimes his Freshman shot selection is questionable.

But this team needs his moxy, clutch, fearless mindset.

He kinda won both games for us in a way.

Has a Zag ever had a triple double?

Zach could be the one. He has had double digit assists, and adding to the rebounds and points...

He's the alpha male on the team, regardless of his year, he knows it and the players know it. He and Rui next year just may be the best 1-2 punch in all of cbb next season.

no doubt Texas, all stepped up
not sure that's why coach pulled J3 then, early foul and Holtmann's intent on putting fouls on J3 imo. maybe Few will give us a quote. in any case, Rui answered the bell with his best game in the uni

Of course I'll wait to listen to what Few says. OTOH, that early foul was indicative of J3 trying to do too much.

It's obvious that OSU players were trying to intimidate us, and Josh was having nothing of it. The team kept their cool, as befitting a championship caliber team.

CO MVPS. Lefty CLUTCH and Rui. Needed both their efforts on both ends of the floor.
These two are a couple of my favs all time in program history along with Josh at PG. I'd love to coach those three kids. They'd challenge you some days no doubt, but other days would be so rewarding.

I picked Perks -
He held the team together -- solid in a very big game.

Snacks is the obvious choice, Rui a close second, but Perks did the little things that were so important in this slug fest.

Go Zags - Beat Xmen or Noles!!

Reborn
03-18-2018, 06:18 AM
In this one i had to go with the team. What makes the Zags go, and win in games like this one, is their belief in how important the concept of TEAM is. Norvell, and Rui certain were terrific, and both were playing their best games ever I think. But when I look at the victory, and how the game was one, I have to go with TEAM. In this game, on that night, the whole team had to collectively step up and do it together both on offense and defense.

Not much has been said about Perkins. I feel he played his best game ever as a point guard. EVER. I'm sure doc is proud of him too. For me his game was classic point guard play. He was the Quarterback. He was the magician. I believe he's the one that made it all work out last night with his brilliant passing and brilliancy in running that offense to perfection. The refs were allowing Ohio St to play so physical against Perkins. The guy guarding him was hand checking him in the chest all night long, but Perk never stopped being the aggressor. His dribbling was artful. I loved his game. I can't ignor him as Player of the Game.

Go Zags!!!
