Spokane sure gets involved with the Zags :) ...... It's a pretty darn nice 'town' to live in too. I call it a town as it just doesn't seem like a city to me. Born here in '52 and moved around a bit but been back here since '81. "Here" is actually now 20 mi outside of town near Chattaroy along the Little Spokane River. Anywho - back to the Zags. While out this AM I noticed that both the Spokesman-Review and the Inlander had front pages ablaze with news and stories on the Zags: http://www.spokesman.com & http://www.inlander.com/ .... I had to smile being reminded of just how much most of Spokane loves the team. If you don't love them here you sure end up spending time getting your ear bent by those of us that do! The Zags are quite a 'main attraction' for the town. If you'd like to read stuff that might not end up in most Zags news posts please visit the links. Here are photos of the two main pages ......

Thanks, Zagger! I grew up in Spokane but moved to the other side of the mountains 14 years ago! I worked for the Spokesman then for KHQ in 2001 selling the first Zags advertising pkgs (when khq started broadcasting games). I just realized how long I’ve been gone and seeing those front pages made me smile.

Mrs.'75 and I loved Spokane while we were students at GU. We talked about coming back to Spokane after professional school and we always figured we would end up living in one of those beautiful brick houses on the South Hill near Manito Park, but that didn't happen.
GU excitement is not limited to just Spokane either. Folks in Wenatchee and the entire Columbia Basin seem to regard the Bulldogs as "their team". We were in Palm Springs between the WCC Tournament and Boise, and I saw a surprising amount of Gonzaga Basketball apparel on the streets there as well. Nice!

Go Bulldogs!

No matter the trip I take, I wear a Zag shirt for one leg of the trip and another Zag shirt mid-trip if practical. I almost always get a Go Zags. Had two young ladies come running at me screaming at ACL last October. I had forgotten by that point in the day that I was Zagged up... Didn't know what was going on until they got to me and yell GO ZAGS and high fived me.

I always Zag up too and have had go ZAGS on every trip! So fun. Even in Alaska and Hawaii.

Guess where? Had on a Zags hat and sweatshirt. Didn't get any 'Go Zags' though. They're much bigger on soccer here. We just got back. The Zags app + wifi and I got to listen to the WCC games. I also had the box score on ESPN's website to help me figure out goings-on. Although with the time difference I did fall asleep during a couple of the games :(

Six or seven years ago, I knew everything had changed when I noticed that I could buy a Gonzaga hat in the Atlanta airport.
