For me, it’s No. 1: the run of 20 NCAA-tournament appearances in a row. Bud kinda makes the point for me ... without the consecutive trips to the tourney there wouldn’t be opportunities to win so many first round games in the tourney. All three accomplishments are amazing. Hard to pick one. Kinda like “which of your kids is your favorite?”

There's no 20 straight without the shroom team, their win in the WCC Final still one of my all time favorite Zag wins. a flawed team with the huge distraction and loss of Heytvelt, yet dug deep to keep the streak alive. Few and co. did a heck of job in that one imo

I like that there’s 2 Tillies and 3 Js :)

It's all about the big dance.

That's what everyone cares about. You watch the conference tourneys and the announcers says, "XYZ hasn't been to the NCAA tournament since 2008."

A small mid-major could go 30-2 and lose in the first round of their conference tournament, then not get invited to the NCAA tourney. Their season would be considered a failure. Correct?

And for this reason it really irks me that Oklahoma is still getting consideration for getting in the tourney.

Loving the 20 straight years of making the dance and 9 straight years of winning a game.

Knowing you walk before you run .... I'd love to see 9 straight years of winning a game change to 10 ... then what I'd REALLY like to see is GU break their own 3 year streak of back to back to back Sweet 16's (or beyond).

This "cute little run" started with that from '99 to '01. Only 3 schools accomplished that in those years ... Duke, Michigan State and Gonzaga. Of course Duke and Michigan State won National Titles and the closest Gonzaga came to the Final 4 was 33 seconds and a possession away against eventual National Champion UConn.

Our Zags have repeated the "3 year Sweet 16 or beyond streak" '15 - '17. Again, only 3 schools have accomplished that over the past three seasons ... Wisconsin, North Carolina and Gonzaga.

I'd flat out love Gonzaga to extend this "streak" of Sweet 16 or beyond to 4 straight years ....

I’m with Bud on this one. To win 9 straight games in a row in the tourney you have to make the tourney 9 straight years. Do you realize that streak alone would be the 5th longest current streak on its own merit? And then to actually win a game? Amazing.

All 3 are incredible but the 9 straight wins is my pick.

Yes. A new S16 streak and benchmark might be lost on a lot of people but it would be huge to me.

9 straight. Incredible. Of course making it 20 is a huge deal. But if we had missed one in there somewhere it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Advancing to the Round of 32 or beyond for 9 straight seasons is insane.

2009 Sweet 16
2010 Round of 32
2011 Round of 32
2012 Round of 32
2013 Round of 32
2014 Round of 32
2015 Elite Eight
2016 Sweet 16
2017 National Runner up

Big Dance streak. That's what it really boils down to is the chance to play in the Tourney.

I believe that Gonzaga’s active streak of first round wins is longer than the appearance streaks of all teams with the exception of Kansas, Duke, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Gonzaga. Is that right?

I'll weigh in by saying I like the NCAA win streak the most. It invalidates the "You just make it to the tournament every year because you play in a weak conference" argument.

I was starting to hear less of that after the 2015 run and I haven't heard that once since the Final Four. It's a soothing silence. :)

Never really cared about streaks or records...always wanted to get to the final four.

Last years journey will always be special because it took place all on the west coast and it was our first Final Four....only get one First!

So guess it’s our streak of 1 FF
