Congrats to Brock.

I wonder if a B school kid has ever won this honor before. I would guess not.

2012 Jordan Chatman was lights out yesterday for BC's win over NC State. I wonder how he wound up all the way in Boston.

Congrats Brock! I wonder when the All State team will come out. Will Anton Watson be on it?

Congrats Brock!!

B is a bit harder, for sure. Other "small" (2A or smaller) schools since 2000 to be Mr. Basketball:

2000 - Luke Ridnour: Blaine (2A)
2004 - Marvin Williams: Bremerton (2A)
2010 - Joe Harris: Chelan (1A)

Mr. Basketball is slightly different and David Pendergraft won the award in 2004 at 2B Brewster.

I watched some of the State B. Ravet is good. Good handles, good vision. Creative scorer and I know we judge the competition he was up against he looked plenty quick to my eyes.

I personally liked that he seemed to be "farm boy" strong. He made his 3/4 court passes with ease and accuracy. In that regard, he reminded me of Spangler.

Great to read about this recognition.

Great accomplishment by Brock Ravet. Can't wait to see this kid on the floor at the Kennel.

I was looking at the list of former winners and there are a lot of familiar names. However, I had never heard of Jason Todd who was a recent 2-time POY winner. He is listed as playing D2 at CBU which seemed odd. Did some research and found an interesting story. He went to Portland first which must have seemed like a great "get" for the Pilots at the time but transferred after getting assaulted by a teammate.

Indeed they are. And Brock has another year in high school to refine his game even more.

Congratulations Brock Ravet. Cool. If it hadn't been Brock it would have been Watson. IMO.

Yup. Wonder if he can get to 40 ppg for his senior year.

Would prefer he gets over 10 dimes and works on his defense rather than upping his scoring.

Why not all of the above? 10apg in highschool has got to be virtually impossible to achieve, but he's already over 9.

Just so you’re aware spy, I wouldn’t put too much thought into any stat outside of scoring in high school basketball. These are not official stats and are usually kept, if they are at all, by a team manager or assistant coach.

I know, I played high school basketball. But that goes for all high schools, so it's still apples to apples.

My goodness, I forgot that high-school games are only 32 minutes long. Those numbers are mind-boggling. Didn't Olynyk put up ridiculous numbers in high-school as well?

Yea but I believe Canadian games are longer for whatever that’s worth.

It's the exchange rate. But no Canadian games aren't longer, but Olynyk was, I think he averaged 42 ppg his senior year.

Maybe 6’1”.

he looks kinda stocky too, so i'm guessing wingspan is right around 6' as well...that's more important than pure height.

Over the years, I’ve watched plenty of B basketball. Kittitas stands out as perhaps the best B team I’ve seen.

I found this funny. I've never thought of "stocky" as "short-armed" but I have a 5'9" brother that is 270 lbs (think body-builder, not fat at all, but stocky would be an understatement) who has a 6'3" wing-span. So I've never thought of stocky that way.
