Michigan St. knocked them out of the Big 10 Tourney this morning. The Badgers are 15-18. I don't care what their RPI is, their streak of NCAA Tourney appearances is over. Bo Ryan forced Greg Gard as his replacement on the school. Worked out okay for 1 1/2 years, but year 3 wasn't very good.

I totally agree with you. Except that the committee is going to find a way to get them in!!!

Michigan State

Still that's some impressive company to keep. Just think of the schools who have missed one or more dances during our run: Arizona, UCLA, Kentucky, UConn, Syracuse, Carolina, Florida, Indiana, etc.

Wisconsin had a tough time this year. They had a lot of injuries. Their freshman pnt guard Davidson played the season with the same shoulder problem that Perkins and Wade suffer with. One tough kid who is really a special player. They had a lot of close games and got on a roll the last few weeks loosing to Michigan State by 5 the first game and 3 the last and beat Purdue. As far as nocking their coach I think he did pretty good for how the season went playing in a really tough conference with many injuries. They play team ball like the zags and don't get the one and dones. I'm guessing they don't open the wallet to compete with some of the schools mentioned above.

There are a lot of major programs have completely fallen off the map: UConn, Pitt, Memphis and Indiana come to mind immediately.

I dare say none harder than Pitt.

Next to line to fall off the map are the remaining members of the WCC, though that could be said for the four programs bringing up the rear. I'll give Pepp kudos for sending their coach out on a positive note.

on Pitt, had Howland and then Dixon as coaches back to back, helped create something that's now missing evidently

Expect Kevin Stallings to be fired as soon as their season is over.

If only there was a former Pitt player who had head coaching experience. Maybe some guy who has a bit of controversy at his current school and might need a change of scenery. Hmmm. If only.

Pitt would have to write an awfully big check for that, considering the contract Miller signed with AZ.
