I’m just hoping we don’t have to see them in a Vegas THIS year.

I agree. They are really tough on defense. They also work the ball far into the clock.

Coach has them trending upward for sure.

Agree. I think their coach is a Bennett disciple. Frankly, I don’t know how they lost to some of the WCC bottom dwellers.

How in the world have they lost 9 games in this conference??

They get up for the big dogs. If their coach can get them up for every gm? Whew.

USD returns their Top-5 scorers next season, AND 3 or their 4 top producing bench guys. (essentially 8 of the top 9 return)

They lose one player/senior, who currently averages 6 ppg.

Not to mention, they have a very solid, impressive recruiting class with some international prospects, and 3* guards who have over-performed.

Top-10 defense in NCAA already, well coached, return 95% of their scoring output.

Poised to contend for the League Title, and even a NCAA Tourney spot.

There is a very good chance we play them again in Vegas, as they are in line for the #4 seed.

Hats off to them.

I like that Torero team. They play really hard, fundamentally sound basketball. I think they’re already a better team than BYU and look poised to be a legitimate contender in this league for the next couple of years.

They are good defensively, but I think they're maybe getting too much credit on that end. Their defensive efficiency on KenPom is 100.5, 68th in college basketball. By comparison, GU is 97.0, 23rd.

Mostly USD just plays at a slow-as-molasses pace, as you also alluded to.

USD needs to figure out how to get that many students at the rest of their games.

They’d have to play the Zags 8 times at home! It’s the Super Bowl when the Zags come to town. Some of these students couldn’t name half the teams in the WCC

Also, Most JRs and SRs live off campus. Unlike GU, off campus is not just a walk over (though some do live in the surrounding neighborhood). Many choose to live at the beach though, a good 15 min drive away.

Like w/ other WCC challengers, the first test for USD is to stop losing to teams in the WCC they have no business losing to. It's not to beat St. Mary's and Gonzaga. That comes later.
