He was diagnosed with bi polar disorder about a year ago. Not sure if playing football again is a good idea for Johnny. Not sure if there is much interest, but I could see him having a "pro" day where he works out for several teams.

Shocking to me that it went this long un-diagnosed. I know from family with the disease that "bi-polar" becomes sort of almost a default category in some ways, so he might not have a classic case.

Interesting what you note about concussions. That hadn't occurred to me. It sure would be a consideration.

Really sad story. Kind of one of those where he almost had to die, fall as far as he could fall, before got help.

I didn't see him play at Texas A&M enough to see if he sustained a lot of good whacks. He always struck me as a QB who didn't do a great job of protecting himself on the field.
