Congrats to Domantas Sabonis for being chosen to the Rising Stars Challenge during All Star Friday Night.

The game features top rookie and second year players from the USA and World.

We drafted out all twenty players, with Sabonis landing in the top 10.

The ‘World’ team is stacked and should handily defeat the prima donnas that comprise the U.S. team. I like the World team’s roster much more because of better talent and team-first fundamentals learned; very different from the “me ball” U.S. kids learn all through AAU and generally being treated like royalty from the time they’re in middle school.

OTOH, U.S. guards D’Angelo Fox, Dennis Smith Jr., and Donovan Mitchell are much, much, much quicker and faster than any of the World guards. They may just fast break their way to victory.

I’m surprisingly very interested in watching this game.

ESPN gives Sabonis an A for his performance.

Sabonis did the dirty work in an exhibition, scoring a pair of putbacks while going a perfect 6-of-6 from the field. One was particularly impressive, as Sabonis tracked down a loose ball -- one of his 11 rebounds -- on the perimeter and then drove for a three-point play.
