Zags notch the "W" with a 69 -59 score

STATS: http://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=191707

Four players in double figures. With 3 minutes to play, it was still anyone's game. . .the talking heads were saying the Zags need tough games like this to get them ready for post-season. . . that talking point might be its own thread. . .

Zags were mediocre from the FT line tonight: 13-20, though they converted 6-7 in the second half.

Who earns the first February 2018 Player of the Game vote ?

Melson for me. He really worked hard the whole game.

I went with Williams by the slimmest of margins over Melson and Kispert (who played his best defense IMO) and how about Norvell Jrs total shooting confidence!

Melson for me. He really worked hard the whole game.

Same here.

Melson was steady all game, came up with a big steal-and-dunk, and took his licks on some tough foul calls (and that non-call on the hard screen toward the end).

Really wanted to vote for the combo of Melson/jw3 cause they both really brought it tonight and led the team to the W. Love what that coach is doing at USD by the way...hope he sticks around cause it’s a big win for the wcc.

J3 by a hair over Silas.

0 assists. Woof.

Melson battled hard, he kept grinding when the team needed it most.

Norvell hit the two most important shots of the game.

1. JW3 barely over
2. Melson
3. Norvell’s confidence

Went with Melson over Williams III. Honorable mention to Zach Norvell, Jr.

My ballot went to Silas because JWIII committed 4 TO's and was 2-5 from the FT line. . .

Melson was a rock.

Melson: energy, defense, plays that assured the win.
