Well THAT is exciting. Thank you for the good news on this dreary Saint Mary's hang-over day.

Agree with all, this is really exciting news and good timing too. Amazing to think that they are coming to Spokane, can’t get much more of a big boy than that for a home and home.

Yeah, I'd have to say that matchup has a bit more panache than SMC vs. Cal or Stanford.

Probably the biggest statement to date on the state of Gonzaga basketball.

The article says that the return game in SPOKANE will be during the 2019/20 season. I assume this means The Kennel and not Spokane Arena, although the article isn't specific about this. That being said, Roy Williams is a man who has always played at places like UC-Santa Barbara, Northern Iowa, UNC-Asheville, etc., in order to give home games to his players (although the UCSB game was done to give the Heels a game before their trip to Maui). He and Few have mutual respect. I can't see Williams trying to mess over Few on this.

Next year's schedule is stacking up to be really tough. The Maui field is going to be super tough. Creighton is one of the hardest arenas in the country to play at. And now they have Carolina on the schedule.

BTW - I hope both of these games are on CBS. Gonzaga hasn't had a regular season game on CBS in ages. It is always awesome to be on network TV, and a GU/UNC game would likely get shown to the whole country.

Stick that in your ear, Randy :)One more reason he won't have to schedule outside his area code. He can continue to ride the Zag's SOS.

Randy...does...not...care. He's in his first year of his ten year contract extension.

Doesn't matter: SMC recruits Australia, and does a good job of it. We recruit the rest of the world. This is SMC's year to "get 'er done."

Not to be outdone, RB told his team this morning that UNC was coming to Moraga next season; University of Northern Colorado.

I'm 3.5 hours from Chapel Hill and my co-worker is a diehard Heels fan, I just called him into my office to show him this news and we're getting tickets as soon as they go on sale.

It's only 1200 miles from Dallas. I'm retired now, depending on the date, I could see a road trip for that, even if it's solo.

I’ll definitely be there too with my brother who is a UNC grad. It’s only an hour and a half for us but I just hope it’s on a Saturday!

Sweet! Wonder if the venue might be the Arena instead of McCarthey? Probably not but wonder as it’d mean 4,000+ more seats.

North Carolina was supposedly trying to work out a game in Seattle for Marvin Williams' Soph year, either against UW or GU. But then Williams went pro and it became a moot point. I know they were at Key Arena for the NCAA Tourney (I think it was '99, same year the Zags were officially launched), got taken down by Weber St. They got Arceneauxed. Anyway I'm wondering when the last time they were in Washington for a regular season game was, if ever.

Now if we can get RUI and Tillie back next year, i think we have a National Championship team to play NC at their place. NC vs NC.

Norvell

The good news is that it will probably be a lot easier to buy seats to watch GU play in Chapel Hill than it is to get decent seats at K2. I have never been to North Carolina but I hear they have great whole hog BBQ and even better farm-to-table cigars. What a great combination - the Maui Classic and the University of North Carolina. GU is definitely playing in the big leagues now, although I am still waiting for the home and home announcements with Kansas and Duke and Kentucky and Louisville.

See you there.

Go Bulldogs!
