Volkar center news

Soon, there will be an honest-to-goodness “hall of honor” inside the new Volkar Center -- the last feature of the new building housing a practice court, basketball strength-and-conditioning component and student-athlete academic support-services center. Some of those elements' christening are targeted for the return of students from the holiday break, but the hall of honor component probably won’t be ready until sometime in the spring.

A Throwin’ Samoan reference. Nice
Zags kinda hiding their great achievements under a basket, a peach basket.
Too busy for a hall selection? College administrators are hilarious. But not as much as faculty. I recall a faculty member asking me at commencement what my plans were for the multi month interregnum between graduation and first day of fall classes. He was going to Italy. Um, I said a bit sheepishly, other than a few weeks off I work all summer.

My Gonzaga ties are specifically to the Men’s Basketball program,
But you can make a case that one of the next numbers to be retired
Should be the #21 worn by Courtney Vandersloot.
Great player, incredible accomplishments, and passed the eye test
Without question.

Speaking of my own interests regarding GU Athletics, one hopes that Troy Fraley is placed in the Hall of Honor upon graduation from Gonzaga!

Yes. The next jersey should be Courtney's. Without question.

Not sure what the hold up is. It should have already been done.

Huskie exception aside, I think generally you need a few "wrinkles" before you're get your # retired.
