Thanks Reno! Games I’m most interested in watching at least some of today besides, of course, the Zags:
- Creighton vs Georgetown: is Patrick Ewing’s squad legit?
- W Va vs Oklahoma: my top viewing priority. Frosh phenom Trae Young vs Press Virginia and their veteran backcourt
- Kansas vs TCU: are the Jayhawks imploding and destined for a poor season or does Self’s team b**** slap Jamie Dixon’s squad back into the Big 12 pack?
- Texas vs Baylor

thanks Reno. Some great games today. Not much going on in the WCC, but there's a lot of great games to watch on a chilly Saturday here in Yakima. I'm looking forward to the UNC vs Virginia game. I haven't seen Virginia play yet this year. I'll spend some time looking in on Florida and Texas. They seem to be doing pretty well so far this year. The best games are in the evening and night. West Virginia vs Oklahoma will be awesome. Kentucky vs Tenn will be real good, as will Kansas at TCU. As usual, there are a lot of really good teams playing this year.

I'm not watching the game, but Arizona is getting hammered by Colorado. That tends to happen when one team is shooting 70% from the floor and the other is shooting 25%. No joke. I don't think I've EVER seen that big of a disparity in FG shooting.

Would be huge for Colorado to win this game! They just beat ASU two days ago. The best part? San Diego beat Colorado in Boulder!!

Colorado also got beat by Oregon St. by almost 20 last weekend. The Pac 12 is a bit hard to figure out so far. OSU is much improved from last year, they beat the Ducks last night and already have more conference wins than they did all of last season, after only 3 games! That mostly just tells you how awful they were last year.

I'm gonna go ahead and make the bold prediction that none of last year's Final 4 entrants are gonna make it back to the Final 4 this year. Several of them might not even make the Tourney (Oregon and South Carolina look kind of iffy at this point).

Arizona had it down to 6 for a second, then instantly went back to 10. Dug too big of a hole in the first half. 5 1/2 minutes left.

Any fans of the movie "Spaceballs?" Colorado has a guy on their bench named Schwartz. I've never even heard of him before, but he's scored in double figures today. "I see your schwartz is as big as mine."

80-77 final, Colorado wins. Can't go down by almost 20, or allow 70% shooting for most of a half, and expect to win a game. I just can't get into the Cats this year. It seems like the team is missing heart, or mental fortitude, or something.

So many variables. Which version of the Zags shows up? Do Tillie and JW3 come to play, or are they M.I.A.? If Zags are hitting 3's, they probably win.

One phrase i’ll never forget from my time in Germany is “es macht nichts.” It doesn’t matter. Zags are the only WCC team that can grab an at large bid this year...maybe SMC. Power 5 conferences aren’t leaving any room for mid-major conferences this year, judging by the turbulence in the rankings.

It hurts our seeding in the tournament. We need as many top 50+ wins we can get and BYU losing to Pacific drops their RPI dramatically and will not bring up pacifics enough to help any. Its a bad result for GU but oh well.

Not going to argue all night but dropping BYU from the top 50 or even top 100's in RPI is a very unpositive thing for GU if they want a high seed. The amount of top 100 and top 50 RPI wins is a big factor when it comes to seeding.

I don’t think this is true. While for years the committee talks about devaluing the rpi, they still look heavily at top 50 and top 100 wins. Top 50/100 what? Rpi

I have been very impressed by San Diego in this game. They have been a solid defensive team all year, and they are keeping SMC shooters from getting good looks from the 3 point line. They are willing to let the big guy get his. Lots of good cutting action in the Toreros offense.

But they need to settle down, SMC is on a 13-0 run or something like that. Gotta keep the game close.

Thanks to half the conference being 200+ in RPI, there is no opportunity for improvement in our RPI short of remaining undefeated in conference. We dodged a bullet tonight, because Josh and the rest of the team executed brilliantly on offense, and played good defense in spurts.

Not bringing a double to take the ball out of Landales hands is a mistake.

The problem is that he has some of the best 3 pt. shooters in the nation surrounding him. USD elected to single team Landale the whole game. They figured the 3 ball could kill them more than Landale.

If I'm GU, I don't double him either. I just tell Tillie and Larsen to stay vertical, make it hard on him, and commit no cheap fouls. I'd rather cut off the 3pt. line.

The problem is that USD doesn't have a real center.

Zagceo, if you were able to watch the game, I think you'd agree that the USD offense is legit. SMC's defense was very good at times including the USD offensive drought. I do not agree that SMC has a weak defense, generally. They still need work but it is far from being abysmal. I think USD is a team you/we can root for when not playing our guys. Don
