Thanks for the link, sitting. Bud Withers is usually a very interesting read when it comes to the Zags.

His salutation is foreboding. I agree with it too. One or two losses in conference and/or a slip-up in Vegas could land the Zags on a not-so-tasty seed line. That's how the cookie crumbles when the scheduling works out the way it did this year, when paired with no marquee wins.

Still, hard to believe the WCC is 14th in RPI. That is horrendous, for all the reasons that are obvious, but again is extra frustrating considering the NCAA shares money the conference has been earning compared to many conferences not in the power 5. Supremely frustrating.

What's even more frustrating is we actually have 4 solid teams again yet the bottom gets worse and worse every year

GU: " Hey WCC, it would be great if you used the money GU basketball earns the WCC into improving your own basketball programs"

WCC: "Do we still get the money even if we don't improve?"

GU: "Yes but...."

WCC: "OK thanks for the input, gotta go. Keep making deep runs!"

The problem with his analysis is that RPI is fluid. Last years at this time undefeated GU was sitting with a 40+ RPI as Iowa State and Florida (there best wins) were both sitting in the 70-60 range. Both ended up a whole lot higher. Texas, Crieghton, OSU, and Udub all are sitting in the mid-50s, but they could all move up as the season progresses. Using RPI forecaster it seems that changes are GU finishes with RPI in low 30s or high 20s. (possibly higher or lower but good percentage of 20ish RPI) http://www.rpiforecast.com/teams/Gonzaga.html (http://www.rpiforecast.com/teams/Gonzaga.html)
