WCC:

BYU 73, Texas Southern 52
San Fransisco 66, Nevada 64

Caught the last few minutes of the USF vs. Nevada game. Nail-biting back and forth, but at the second-to-last Nevada possession (64-63 Nevada) it was headed towards an out-of-bounds turnover, to which a Nevada player did a behind the back heave/crash into the stands to try and save it. Unfortunately for him, it fell into the Dons hands which then turned into the go-ahead 3 with 6 seconds to go. Wolfpack could not get a last-effort 2 in the bucket before the buzzer sounded.

Props to the Dons for making a frustrating night for a usually high scoring Nevada and the huge win.

Thank you for posting this. Really neat to see the WCC teams both win ... even if USF had to fight for it. Sounds like a great game

Seems like the Dons did something similar to the Zags a few years back.

NMSU 63, #6 Miami 54, home loss for the Canes.

Zags better keep the foot on the gas from here on out.

this was at a holiday tournament in hawaii, so not a home loss for the canes but bad nonetheless...
interesting fact about a very good 11-2 nmsu team is that their only two losses were both to the wcc (san diego and st.mary's)
nmsu due to the upset now gets usc in the diamondhead classic championship game...go aggies!!!

Watched the 2nd half of the USF - UNR game. Nevada was stymied by Dons' defense and the Dons hit 11 - 3's. That's a good win for the WCC as UNR has been sniffing the Top 25 most of the season and they have some pretty good talent on their squad. Nevada was favored by 12.5 points. Dons led at the half, 35 - 26.

Looks like the San Francisco games will not be cakewalks.

Best wishes to all for a Happy Christmas.

Speaking of cake, looks like Coach K might push some aside...
