Georgetown-Syracuse tied at 19, 4 minutes left in the half...painful to watch. Fox got fleeced.

There are so many teams ranked ahead of us that we would destroy; Miami for one. They struggled to beat a bad George Washington today.

#10 Xavier comes back & wins by 2 in the final seconds @ home. Were favored by 18.

Didn't see much of the start. Did Macura get hurt or just sat down 'cause he was 0-8?

P.S.

Cincy vs UCLA. Now there's 2 teams I can't root for!

Headin' out the door for GU. Let me just say in closing that Utah @ BYU will be very "entertaining."

Is Vegas taking bets on whether there will be any punches thrown during the game?

Notre Dame-Indiana going OT. ND had a pair of FTs w/ .8 left on the clock and missed them both. Not clutch.

Oklahoma thumping Wichita St.--54-37 just before half. I haven't watched them this year but Sooner freshman Trae Young is supposed to be pretty good.

Indiana down 3, got a bucket and foul. Missed the FT, O rebound, interior pass for a dunk, up 1. ND missed a desperation 3, Indiana rebound, shooting FTs again. Now up 80-77 w/ 2 sec. left.

12-16-2017, 01:10 PM
Bonzie Colson's halfcourt 3 attempt just rattled out. Wow that was close! ND led almost the entire OT, but comes up short. Indiana is only 6-5 but might have better days to look forward to w/ Archie. Almost took down Duke in the ACC-Big 10 Challenge.

What a cool event, Crossroads Classic or something. Games in Indianapolis, 4 in state teams. Purdue beat Butler in the earlier game. 2 bad there aren't 4 decent teams in Washington so they can't do the same thing.

Oklahoma was up as much as 17 or 18, but they've tightened up and WSU is coming back. 80-71 w/ 2 minutes left. Not much time, but OU hasn't scored in quite a while and have no momentum at this point.

Big wins for the Big 12 and OU and OSU today. If you haven't already, make it a point to watch OU play. Trae Young the Freshman Phenom is leading the nation in scoring avg and he's under 6' tall and Lon Krueger is a helluva coach and fine guy too.

71-69 Clemson final. It was a double header, both of the ranked, home state Florida teams lost to unranked teams from Oklahoma. It's looking like an upset filled day today.

Oh boy, I'm not exactly looking forward to that game. The Pit has a reputation as a tough place to play. 'Zona has some history there, and not the good kind of history. Lute vowed to never play there again after a late game "clock malfunction" but that was a while ago and Lute's not on the side lines anymore.

Cat, when you have the time, google "soup Campbell unm paper cup game." We were there, in the SRO section, but I had a clear view. UTEP-UNM were events in the 80s.

The bar at the Marriott after the game was THE place to be. After another tough loss for the Lobos, Gary Colson sat down in the chair next to me, surrounded by Miner fans. He was very gracious, and we treated him with great respect.

Four of us were wearing our Kent's Klub tshirts, in honor of Kent Lockhart. Although mine doesn't fit me anymore, it's in my closet, next to the "Can't Stop the Stache" tshirt. :lmao:

That's cool TZF. I've barely rubbed shoulders with any coaches. Had a very brief exchange w/ Romar one time (same night was standing next to Spencer Hawes, who is about a foot and a half taller than me). That was when the UW volleyball team won a National Championship in '05 and a group of people had gathered on campus to welcome them home.

Another year my dad and I were in LA for the Pac 10 Tourney before it moved to Vegas. We were at a food court near our hotel and Tony Bennett and the entire Wazzu team walked in. We wished them good luck. I think that's about the extent of talking to college bball coaches for me.

Kansas nearly lost again. Barely got past Nebraska by 1, and they were down a deuce inside the last minute of the game.

Arizona led big early, New Mexico mounted a rally but Cats held them off. Good thing they have Rawle Alkins back, he led them w/ 26 points I think.

I watched the game and imho Trae Young is the best player in college hoops, easily! Besides being a dynamic scorer, he has the ball in his hands constantly and just controls the game. Fun to watch. OU also has a frosh big, Manek (?) who is lights out from 3. He and Young have been playing together since 3rd grade. They have some great pieces in addition to these two...no idea how OU hasn’t been ranked up to this point, but they will be now. I like that team a lot.

Portland loses to Seattle... ouch.

Florida spiraling now. Is Ohio State gonna be Zags’ signature win of the season? They better handle their business in the WCC or its Selection Sunday bubble team time baby. No signature wins, no show vs Villanova = anything more than 1 loss in a dreadful WCC year makes Zags a bubble team without earning the auto bid. Cite all the prior years when Zags got an at-large that you want, the WCC is awful this year, so I’m calling it now. Anything more than 1 conference loss means Zags gotta win WCC tourney or else be firmly on the bubble.

Trae Young is a great player, but personally I would prefer Marvin Bagley even though I can't stand Duke. Man, plenty of bball to be played before I would forecast that Zags can only lose 1 more game etc in the conference. It is only December 17th. The Zags will handle their business and I will continue to enjoy the season watching them play.

every single fan of every half decent team would probably say the same thing about gonzaga if they watched the zags play against north dakota...

"dude, i can't believe gonzaga is even ranked...they had to go to overtime at home to beat a crappy north dakota team and probably should have lost."

btw...GW > North Dakota

Reeves and Damon Stoudamire was quite the dynamic, high scoring backcourt duo.
