The Seattle Times says it is the most lopsided road win ever for Zags vs. Huskies. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-basketball/gonzaga-picks-up-where-it-left-off-at-alaska-airlines-arena-throttling-washington/

Guess it didn't take the huskies long to start resting on their laurels.

But hey, think I heard tonight's opponent played in the WCC, so who could blame them.

Screw Softy. Haven't listened to him in years. He obviously can't stand the Zags. He is just a big blow hard.

Isn't that what a blow hard means?

No, that was Mitch, the KJR morning guy. He hated Few so his show was a Gonzaga-free zone. "Softy" (weird nickname) is a total UW homer/loud-mouth who masquerades as a sportscaster.

Oh, well, the uwdawgpound didn't waste any time conceding the obvious. https://www.uwdawgpound.com/2017/12/10/16759744/washington-blown-out-by-gonzaga-97-70-uw-huskies-basketball

Jim Meehan tweet re: Josh's shoulder:

Perkins said his right shoulder popped out of place and back into place right away. Also said he's had shoulder issues in the past. Didn't bother him much after he returned.

Speaking from experience, he will be sore tomorrow.

Sounds more than subluxation, but his shoulder has become used to dislocation now. Tendons/muscles stretched, yet know how to accommodate his shoulder instability.

I was told Josh had suffered (3) dislocations, 1st one occurring in HS. This would be a partial 4th.

He will some-day, likely post Gonzaga, have surgery to tighten things up, until then, pop it back in and play on.

His previous dislocations only kept him out a few days. Tough kid. Return to strengthening shoulder and ice and anti-inflammatories are your friend.

I thought the article was balanced, had to have been a bitter pill after beating Kansas. Same feeling we had after Nova. Their next game is against LMU. That one's going to be ugly.

Yea, because the huskies will be playing in it.

It's been a crazy couple of weeks in college hoops, and conference play has barely started.

I'm starting to get worried about the San Diego State game.

I notice over the years that the Tacoma paper does at least as good a job, if not slightly better, in covering the games, background story and writing compared with the wealthier Seattle papers.

Agree with Jazz on the relative elegance of the Times site as less crowded and "intense" than other sites.

Blanchette is a treasure. Not sure how he never left for a huge market job, Houston, Bay Area - type thing.

I love thumping the Huskies. The hometown treatment by the media in Seattle never bothered me, expected anywhere. The hometown team will get more love. The spite for GU is very hard to figure out, other than just typical "big brother" attitude and insecurity when "Little Spokane" dares to go toe to toe with the west side. Mature and confident audience would celebrate the success of sister program.

In the 247 story Luke Mounger says ......
"Even in a game that Gonzaga led for 39 minutes, the atmosphere was electric at Alaska Airlines Arena. A valiant effort from the Dawg Pack provided an exciting energy all night long in was easily the loudest basketball game I’ve witnessed in three years as a student at the University of Washington."

Looks like the GU/UW rivalry will be alive and well for some time :)

Gonna be heartbreak when Hopkins hops back to Cuse when Mr Dour finally does retire. UDub is just a way station.

Unfortunately for the Fuskies, the energy at Hec-Ed was provided by the ZAG fans in attendance. The Dawg Pack was muzzled after the first 10 minutes, and virtually silent the entire 2nd half. My favorite was the ZAG fans in the upper deck leading a "This is our house" chant in the game's closing minutes. Hilarious.............

The pecking order in NW college basketball hasn't changed. Beatdown administered, beatdown accepted. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Go ZAGS

Yea, pretty weak student section IMO. Better than the 2 dozen students I saw at a previous game, however.
