Stuckey Breaks Hand in Pistons’ Win

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 24 (AP) -- Detroit rookie Rodney Stuckey broke his left hand in the third quarter of the Pistons' 104-85 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.

The first-round pick from Eastern Washington had 10 points in 13 minutes before he was injured late in the third quarter.

Antawn Jamison led the Wizards with 14, all in the first half, while Caron Butler scored 12 and Gilbert Arenas added 11.

The Pistons gave their starters a fair amount of playing time in the first half and built a 57-46 lead. Richard Hamilton missed the game with a sprained ankle.

Too bad. He's sounding pretty chipper about it, though (Detroit Free Press (http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071024/SPORTS03/71024087/1048/SPORTS&imw=Y)), and at least he'll still be able to pay for the heat and lights until he's back on the job (HoopsHype NBA Salaries (http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/detroit.htm)).
