Future Zag opponent Villanova is playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. Likely 2nd round opponent is Purdue and a possible matchup w/ Arizona in the championship. Will give an idea of where 'Nova is at as their game w/ GU looms.

Tenn beats Purdue in OT in Battle for Atlantis tourney game, knocking the Boilermakers from the ranks of the unbeatens.

In other news, it appears Chris Spatola's hair is too tight. . .:p

That was a weird ending. Tenn. guy clearly walks with .8 seconds left but they don't give Purdue a chance for a last shot. Maybe it can't be overturned??

I did this so no one else has to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_the_Incarnate_Word

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is a private Catholic university whose main campus is located in San Antonio and Alamo Heights, Texas, United States.[5][6][7] Founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, the university's main campus is located on 154 acres (0.6 km2).

The university operates an all-girls high school, Incarnate Word High School, as well as a co-educational high school, St. Anthony Catholic High School. It also operates two elementary schools, St. Anthony's and St. Peter Prince of the Apostles, through its Brainpower Connection program.

Yet another reason why I just can't see Jordan Brown going there, despite all the crystal ball predictions

This pic says it all. I read a tweet from an Xavier fan who loves Sean Miller as a coach and harbors no resentment against him leaving for Arizona. He said that Sean's problem is that he is way, way, way, way too tense. He is so driven and type A that it is not good for his teams. This is coming from an Xavier fan, so I have to believe there is an element of truth in his assessment. One of the things that I really liked about Coach Few's approach last year is that he really wanted a final four for his team and the players who came before them. Of course he wants to win and he wanted that final 4 for personal reasons. But when you look at it from perspective of the current team and the past players, it eases some of the pressure that is on your back. Also, the understanding that his dad has saved thousands of souls and changed the lives of so many people. It gives a new meaning to the word legacy. That little speech Mark gave about his dad in the presser before the elite 8 game was one of the most moving moments in NCAA tourney presser history. It also convinced me that GU was going to slam Xavier.

Cal is a mess, but Zona will be fine.

I still think this AZ team is better than last season.

Their bigs are massive and talented. They have a nifty lil PG, and the best penetrating/dribble drive SG in the country.

Their young forwards/wings will develop. Top-10 talent at every position, save Ristic, yet even he is seasoned and effective and huge.

I have posted numerous times how Sean Miller holds them back. Not from a recruiting or charisma standpoint, or even practice/development, rather his in-game coaching is the most stubborn and ineffective of any Top 15 program. He will simply not make adjustment to his pre-game scout no matter what occurs during the game.

That said, I fully expect this squad to out-play their stubborn coach, and play deep in the Tourney.

NC State played a balance game, yet Arizona was 2-18 from 3pt, and missed a ton of FT's. They are very good. I certainly wouldn't want to play them this season.

The Warriors might not have beaten NC State had they gone 2-18 from 3pt and missing FTs.

You make good points and reasons to take nothing away from this game.
