Sorry... got wrapped up in posting issues and family time with my son... just dropped him off for the bus back to school.

Game day is two days out... sorry about that. What do you hope to see and of course your predictions... should you be so inclined.

Have at it boys and girls.

Zags 95-60.

Howards biggest player is 6'9" and they have a lot of freshmen. They lost their first game, and I don't think they faced a defense like Gonzaga has.

It will just rain 3s as they try to contain JWIII and Tillie.

I want to see Corey demonstrate even more willingness to assert himself as a team leader and "go to" guy. He's not just "senior-like" in body, but also maturity. Little bit of Turiaf in that respect.

I hope to see a good, solid 12-16 minutes from Jesse Wade ... including some meaningful run in the first half.

Perkins continue to establish himself as a top scorer for this team.

40 minutes of Zags really focused on both ends of the court, regardless of score. Rui establishing himself as a force and earning more playing time by showing the coaches he understands his responsibilities on both ends. He can be a star and it doesnít necessarily have to be next season!

Some time with these lineups:
- Melson; Kispert; Rui; Jones (4); Williams (Killer D lineup)
- Perkins; Kispert; Norvell; Tillie; Williams
- Perkins; Melson; Kispert; Williams; Larsen
..lets Williams play his natural 4 w Larsen posting on the low block.
...I canít stop imagining the possibilities!!

Continue to see Gonzaga's Ninja Shooters knocking them down. I'd like to see Wade as well but Gonzaga appears to be bringing him along slowly. I wonder if he'll red-shirt. Can Rui have a break-out game? I'd like to see Larsen play more too.

I don’t think Wade can redshirt now that he’s played in a regular season game...unless, God forbid, a medical redshirt become necessary.

The view here, after watching Texas So. vs WSU, is that I may have underestimated the Zags. Listening to Michaelson rag on the boyz for sloppy play & turnovers while up by 20 over TSU at halftime, I'm thinking there'll be zero tolerance vs Howard. This could well be a woodshed affair. Bulldogs 103, Buffaloes(?) 66. Who'd a thought, ten years ago, that the Texas Southern's and Buffalo's of college BBall would be eager to travel great distances to be decimated on the scoreboard for what? A $50,000 guaranteed payday in Spoklaloo, WA?

The Hurley trained St Anthony grad guard, RJ Cole will be a handful for the Zags. If that freshman kid gets hot, then watch out. They are scrappers.

I watched some of this game. Howard’s quick, guard-centric attack reminded me of Texas Southern. Hopefully Zags do a much better job than IU of exploiting their size advantage. I predict a big game from JWIII. Howard will not be intimidated. These are unusually tough early early games for Zags, which is just what they need in preparation for the upcoming PK80 schedule.

Unusually tough?

Not trying to be argumentative but these are two sub 200 teams - the fact that they play hard and test you is a testament to their character, not ability. We had San Diego State last year, and beat them about as bad as Tesxas Southern. SDSU kids didn't have the character and drive of these teams, but it did have some talent.

I am wondering if Ernie Kent saved his job by beating Texas So in overtime? That would've been a horrendous loss. But, again, shows the character of the kids. Coming w/in 9 of Indiana at Assembly Hall is like half a win for a school like that.

As I see it, there's plenty of room for error in the WCC, the only exception being SMC. As the season progresses. we'll see how immensely talented and athletic our Zags are. This team should average over 90 points per game. Good luck trying to outscore us.

Gaels will not be tested before they play us. Their big "road game" is across the street against Cal, who lost to UC Riverside.

Like Bart said, Howard got homered a bit vs IU, but they didn't quit, battled back and gave those prima donnas some coaching moments . They are very young mostly Frosh and Sophs and I think they will make GU uncomfortable at least for a while.

TSU and Howard are good prep for most Gonzaga teams, including this year’s version
Because they spread you out, and force you to guard the 3, while also trying to
Stop dribble penetration from guys with legit quickness, without fouling. Excellent prep for
Upcoming games from that perspective.

Purely un-scientific, but the naked eye tells me means are going to be high 90s to low 60s with a spread close to 40 based on current predictions... know a few more are out there still.

Question in the end is WHEN Mark is going to take the foot off the gas?

That really is why I don't expect the game to get into the hundreds. Few is a nice guy and, while he wants to win as much as the next coach (or more), he also doesn't want to embarrass the other team. Second five and walk-ons should get some play, but they aren't slouches either.

...Charles Houston was dean of the law school at Howard University in the 1930s. On the basis of the earlier "separate but equal" Supreme Court ruling, Houston and others brought a suit against the University of Maryland when U of M wouldn't admit a highly qualified black student to their law school. Since Maryland didn't have a "separate but equal" law school for blacks, the courts ruled in the suit's favor and the black applicant was admitted.

In 1954 the U.S. Supreme Court stopped segregation in schools. (Wanted to do a poem on this, but way too hard.)

Howard hung in here the last two with the last one vs Indiana, coast says he wants a "chip on their shoulder" and they makes them hungry and dangerous. Zags need to up the game and cut the turnovers, that being said I see a Zag victory but maybe not as wide as many are predicting. Hope I'm wrong however.
