First week of school on campus, and first week of college football season can only mean one thing. It's the week of BOLD Predictions.

You know the drill, a 25 win season may be accurate, it is not BOLD. Meanwhile, those of you who had us going to the Championship game as last year's BOLD prediction, take a bow .....with a link. :)

Like the '16-'17 Zags this years team surprises everyone and makes it to the Final Four again. The Zags, like UNC last year, make it back to win the National Championship, and yes they do it. 17 is one of my favorite numbers and will go down in history this year. I wanted to be the first to predict this and it looks like I am.

I think the OP said BOLD. I totally understand BOLD. I think the word bold was in caps. I love bold. I love being bold. I love dreaming and hoping and wishing. I will be rooting for them to go all the way every game. You know that. And when they do I WON'T say I told you so. I have never ever said that and I really don't like reading those words when I see others using them. It's not about me. It's about the POWER of being a Zag. This team is going to be good. Real good. And for me that is a pretty safe prediction and not a bold one.

(1) Zags bring online four 4-stars this season, who boost defense & offense, help rip WCC opponents a brand new and collective whatzit. :boxing:

(2) Late-surging Zags are NCAA 4-seed, beat Hell & Cousin Heck outta West Region's No. 1 Seed, rip up their Sweet 16 opponent, squeak out a win against their Elite 8 opponent, return to Final Four. :boxing:

(3) Pundits and "haters" start new gripe against Zags --> when's that "little school from a no-count conference" finally gonna prove itself & win a National Championship? :explode:

Zags will land a mid year transfer (from a high profile Power 5 school) who will be on campus 3 1/2 years and play 2 1/2 years. This kid will end up being Mark Few's 4th member of the Bill Walton "Double/Double" club ... i.e. 1st Team All American and 1st Team Academic All American. This transfer will also be in 2 Final Fours for Gonzaga (possibly 1 as a redshirt, 1 as a participant or maybe 2 as a participant).

My very first BOLD prediction was that sophomore Gary Bell Jr. would lead the Zags in scoring. That was Bold, and that was the year he struggled the most. I'm still here, flying, even though that crashed and burned.

It would be great to hear which people's BOLD predictions ended up coming true, of which people are most proud.

My best BOLD prediction was last year when I said that the Zags would make it to the final 4. Second best was the year before when I also said the same thing. I came pretty close on that one too. That 2015 Team was really something, and I know we all really enjoyed that season. It was a difficult one for sure, much like a Roller Coaster ride. But they put it all together at the end of the season and had a GREAT NCAA Tournament.

I was referring to total 3 pointers by a team in a game, rather than the individual record. Overall record for CBB, though, is 51 by D2 Troy State in 1992, with a total of 258 points scored. That record seems pretty safe.

I've already used my BOLD prediction, and the rule is one, so my just sort of BOLD thoughts would be that GU breaks that record of 22 in one game this year. So much shooting, even bigs like WIII, Tillie, and Rui can all nail down 3s. We know Norvelle scored in bunches.....
