Looks like he is carving out a solid career at Brose: http://sportscave.net/2017/03/brose-bamberg-extend-contract-of-elias-harris/

One of my all time favorite Zags..... a true team player with great individual skills...in short ...... a role model for any youngster...

He has been with Brose Bramburg one of the best teams in the German BBL since 2013. They have won the BBL championship the last three seasons and thus will be representing the BBL in the Euroleague again this season. Germany doesn't have a permanent EuroLeague team but sends its the BBL champion to play each year.

EuroLegaue teams are typically the best clubs in the world outside the NBA with rosters filled with ex-NBA players, future NBA players and guys who could be in the NBA but choose otherwise. The better EuroLeague teams I am sure are better than last year's Brooklyn Nets.

Elias's role has been declining steadily for Brose the last 4 years with the 16/17 season his worst.

I'm not sure what is up with that, but as Brose has moved up in competition (more of a EuroCup team when Harris first joined them) maybe they brought in better players pushing down Harris's minutes and marginalizing him? He barely played in the EuroLeague last year, but saw more action in the BBL.
He could have been injury plagued the last couple seasons for all I know (I do think he has had shoulder and Achilles issues over the years, but I don;t know to what extent)

He also did not make Germany's Eurobasket team this summer, where he has in the past. Maybe someone else knows more...

EDIT - googling around more I learned he is the Captain of Brose, is a core member of the team and just extended his contract with Brose for another three years last March. He has been battling a knee injury most of the 16/17 season.

I keep up with quite a few old Zags on Twitter. Elias Harris's joie de vivre is unparalleled among them despite the injury time outs.

Elias injured again ... Google translation of article: (https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://basketball.de/news/news-bbl/elias-harris-brose-bamberg-verletzung&prev=search)

Elias Harris has injured his knee in the game of Brose Bamberg at the Oettinger Rockets in Erfurt. Whether the 2.03-meter captain of the German champion must be operated on the right knee, further investigations will show in the coming weeks. What injury he has suffered and how long the failure will last has not yet been determined. Already last year, the 28-year-old had only been able to play 18 games in the easyCredit BBL for Bamberg. In the autumn of 2016 he had to undergo a meniscus operation, and a little later a boiling edema stopped him. Both times the right knee was affected.
