But we lament over one game not at the level we want. This is a great addition to an already stacked OOC.

So many worry warts around here...Next season is going to be a lot of fun.

This was a great add to the schedule.

It's nice to have a coach/program that challenges his players and rewards the fans with good matchups in the preseason. The TV folks have to like it, too.

Ha, beat me to it. I was going to post the same thing. Add BYU us and St. Mary's to Western division and they will be a 14 team league.

Adding this game to an already loaded preconf sched w/ Nova and the PK plus a couple other high major games suggests that the staff is pretty confident in next year's team.

Or that they were confident that certain players would be back or would be coming into the fold. This is a great game, but I'm starting to wonder what the record is going to look like next year entering conference play :/

I'm guessing they won't be undefeated!

Two P12 and two BEast and maybe an ACC, B10, B12 or SEC school in the PK Invitational...Great games to watch...

Sounds like this game was scheduled after those decisions were made. And none of us know who might still be coming.

Thanks Gentlemen. Are there any good flights from Pisa to Spokane that any of you know of? The Jays are a big question mark next year. They have to find a good PG and the loss of Justin Patton to the draft looms large. One thing the Zags can't do is resort to their former 3 point defense, namely,, prayer, as Creighton is also an Ignatian University. Coach Mac always manages to find fellas who can light it up from beyond the arc.

Well that means return games to Cal and Creighton in 2018/19 unless they decide to skip a year with one of the opponents and play the following season.........

I keep going back to this....Does anyone know what is going on with Arizona next season? Is GU playing them? Someone mentioned that the Zags will be playing them in Phoenix, but that seems unlikely after the neutral floor thing in LA this year. I get the sense with the addition of Creighton that the Zags and Zona might take the next two years off (they both play in Maui in 2018) and then start a new home and home in 2019.

Really? Gonzaga, likely 2 of UCLA, Baylor, &Wiscy, plus Northwestern is 4 potentially ranked teams. Plus Nebraska. Looks to me like a strong nonconf sched for a team in a power league.

Some folks glasses are always half empty -- comes with living in California I think-- always having sand in various places where the sun don't shine and being stuck in traffic makes people a bit more negative.

Here's a fun fact that I just discovered: Creighton has NEVER won more than one NCAA tournament game. This dates back to 1941 and covers 20 NCAA Tourney appearances.

Ask him about Sabonis.

:)

It's not Jazz's job to post positive things. He's the resident curmudgeon and every board needs one. When he goes off the rails, there are more than enough of us to take note of it. :)

A stern taskmaster is Jazz. Accepts no substitutes. No 2nd's. A number one guy. I thought the same thing about CU's schedule. It's not a killer schedule but it's about what we do when Few thinks development is in order. Creighton is a lot like GU. Same environment but GU is much more liberal in culture. Jesuits have a more "hands on" management style at Creighton. More conservative and it shows. However the Jays do not have the same 20 year background of continued excellent in D1 ball. Losing their PG and and Center hurt them this past year. Hard to replace both. Because of their rigorous league, I'm giving them some slack in OOC. It should be a fun series for both. National TV will be happy with this game.

I feel like we always get a good home to home during a rebuilding year. Teams will never willingly play us unless they think they have the favor. BUT, playing us used to be more of a lose-lose. you beat us, w/e, you lose to us... well you lost to a mid-major "that's never belonged."

We're growing out of that, and I don't think this team is anything to sleep on. It's good for our program.

Dawg, all due respect, my skepticism is more about growing up in Brooklyn than living in SoCal.
