Torn ACL Likely Ends Adam's Season

The MRI revealed a partial to complete tear of the ligament, the team said Sunday before the Bobcats' preseason matchup with the Phoenix Suns. Morrison was scheduled to fly back to Charlotte on the team plane, then be examined Monday by Dr. Glenn Perry, the team physician.

I hope he keeps the attitude that he was showing and talking about in this preseason. He will need it to get through this and come back strong. He is the kind of guy who seems to like bucking adversity, so hopefully he will come through this as strong as ever. (I bet his Halo gets a heck of a lot better this season).

That freakin stinks! Basketball is Adam's life. I wonder how he's going to handle not being able to play this season. Hopefully he can overcome the frustration and recover quickly.

they say an acl injury usually recovers well, but guys often lose their explosive speed and jumping ability.

luckily for morrison, these things are not what made him the basketball player that he is. he should be fine, but a tough, tough setback for the kid who really had a lot to prove this year, and seemed eager and able to prove it

Slow recovery

Diabetics are slow to heal. An acl may knock a player out for a season, but in Adam's case, recovery could take longer. An acl can, in fact, be a career-ending injury. It can't be minimized with wishful thinking. Let's hope the diagnosis is something less severe.

Long time lurker, first time posting. I can only hope that Adam can have successful reconstructive surgery to repair his ACL. I understand it will take time for him to heal properly, but the diabetes doesn't necessarily have to be a problem; with good glucose control, proper nutrition, and the motivation he has shown to make it to where he is today this will hopefully just be a bump in the road. Many things will determine the outcome of his injury and its final impact on him, such as the injury itself, the rehab process and, surgeon finesse. The whole thing was hard to watch last night.

Man, tough break. Best wishes to Ammo that he has a full recovery. I agree with cbbfanatic that, while this is still a horrible injury and not a good thing, Adam might be affected less than some players since his game is not based on great athelticism.
